Forum Marketing Brings A Lot Of Targeted Traffic

Hi fellow warrior.

I just found that forum marketing can bring a lot of targeted traffic if done right. It's a very effective and fun way to pick up customers.

You just spew out what you honestly know about a topic and just promote via your signature, and that's it!

I think it's absolutely essential to have the mindset of sharing information rather than wanting to sell products.

When I approached forum marketing with the first mindset, it became fun and less pressured.

It feels good to share information with other like-minded individuals.

How about you? What's your experience in forum marketing? Share it up!

Thanks,
Alfonso

Remove the affiliate link from your sig, it goes against the TOS of the forum.

    Yes, I agree.

Forum Marketing is a great tactic to get targeted traffic if used in the right way.

I been using forums for over 4 years now and as I agree it can be a good source of traffic if done right it should also be used to build yourself as an authority.

The only problems I see with forums though is that there is alot of information people spew out that just isn't right in my opinion. My opinion though.

There are times you have to take a look at the comments and sift through them quite a bit to get the right information.

Most people tend to look at how long the person giving the information has been on the forum and especially with this forum how many times they have been thanked for sharing their info.

But all in all forum marketing is pretty good. Not as good as it used to be but still good for someone starting out and trying to drive free traffic to their sites.

What you are saying is the truth. You need to know what you talk about as the moderators of the forums will ban you if they realize you are spamming the forum.

It's all in the signature and the response you provide within the topic.

Useful and positive replies will in turn make people think to look at your signature - if you offer an amazing response, they will want to see what else you can do by looking at your signature link and then clicking onto it.

    Alfonso,

You are right. Forum marketing does bring free traffic and sales but you got to follow the rules at every single forum that you join.

Some forums don't allow people to post their affiliate links in their signature. Kind of like this one.

I learned over the years that when you give a lot of value to others, more and more people will click on your link to find more about you. The sad part about online forums is that most of the people who come on them, are just there to SPAM.

    Forum marketing is great!

It allowed me to build an amazing foundation for a successful IM business.

But as Craig pointed out - the downside to forum marketing is the giving away bad information...

But from a marketing standpoint - forum marketing is an old school yet proven method.

    Good Luck.

    Cheers,
    Coby

But you need to post on right thread and forum should be relevant.
I have seen updating single threads brings more traffic then posting on different threads.

This can only be true if it happened that the forum you join is always a Do Follow, in which will allow you to link to the out website. Otherwise, it is just a waste of time.

Forum marketing helps big time. It's a bit slow and doesn't require too much effort if you genuinely love posting.

Yes forum marketing is great if you enjoy helping people out and giving useful tips yourself. When you do this is builds your credibility too. It's nice getting to know other like minded people too!

Yeah, following the rules at every single forum is a real bummer at the beginning. Once you get used to a few forums, you attain that general knowing of how things work making it easier for you to know what to comment.

Yeah, I think this stems from poor execution of what they learned. I think many people who learn from great teachers about using forums as a backlink source make the big mistake of focusing on having many links as much as possible. You got to be GENUINE and SINCERE in your posts (or at least be able to spew intelligent comments without thinking too much about it a.k.a Unconscious Competence).

Definitely! It can be a great platform for building massive credibility as long as you know what you're talking about.

Bad information only comes from the talkers. People who walk the talk are the genuine source of information. ;D

Yeah, that's the key thing about forum posting. You have to be interested or at least curious in the forum's niche to post juicy and chewy content.

This is mainly why I enjoy visiting the Warrior Forum especially the Mind Warriors section. I get to meet a lot of cool, super positive, and like-minded people. ;D
