Anyone else exeriencing this re: WSO's?...

I buy a WSO, then I don't access it for several months -- then when I finally do access it, it doesn't exist.

Yes, I shouldn't put off accessing the wso -- but if I do delay accessing the wso should still be available -- no? If not, then at least there should be a standardized agreement -- "WARNING, this wso disappears 90 days after purchase (or whatever)!!"

That way the buyer AND the seller know, in advance what is expected of them!

If you buy a happy meal at McDonalds.... Do you expect them to hold it for you for several months until you pick it up? Most likely would be hard as a rock and not edible.

You need to get real here. When you buy something, pick it up when you buy it.

The above example was meant to be funny. Hope you got the joke.

Seriously, when you buy something you are not buying unlimited storage rights for what you purchased. Unless that is part of the deal.

Rob's right. You buy something, a product in store, you leave it there for a few months taking advantage of their free storage space and then wonder why on going back to collect your item it's disappeared.

This isn't the sellers fault, this is completely your fault. Buy the item, download it, what could be easier?

Problem is fairly and squarely your end for not downloading it instantly when you had the chance to do so.

It's probably a good idea to 'leg it out' right away with a digital product!

Now of course if I took a product down and a customer emailed me that they did not download it, I would provide them with a way to get what they bought. I would just tell them that I'll upload it and you have 72 hours to download it before I take it back down. Or something like that.

I do my best to try to please my customers the best I can. I'm just not going to provide them with free storage for ever unless that's what they purchased.

It would be wise just to download the product and keep it in a folder, I have a huge folder full of WSO's, some I haven't even read yet, just tempted by the sales copy hehe... Keep them all in one place, great for ideas

Still -- I think it should tell the "expiration date" in advance. Maybe there should be a standardized expiration date. That way there can be no question.

Well when you buy something from a store the expiration date is when you walk out the door. That should work as a standardized expiration date for just about everything.

Get real dude! When you buy something, download it! It's really that easy.

Some things have an expiration date, and some are there for a very long time.

Based on what the item is and the record of the seller you should be able to determine it.

I hate to say it, but perhaps your buying habits need to be addressed.

I tend to buy stuff I actually need immediately - therefore I download them asap.

I could buy a ton of things I "think" I'm going to need, but I found when I did this that by the time I got to something it was outdated or there was something better that had been developed. This only led to me buying the new thing and the old purchase was kinda wasted.

Try buying things you can use/implement immediately.

The only exception to this might be seeing a deal on timeless information.

When you say you don't "access" it, you mean that - having paid for it - you don't even download it?!

Why would you assume that something you buy today would still be on sale and available to be downloaded a few months later?

I don't think it's the sellers fault entirely.

If you buy something and don't access it for months then why did you purchase it in the first place?

I have heard from several people who sell software on this forum that out of x amount of people that purchase the software, they only ever see around half of those people activate the software.

It's ludicrous. I just don't get why people are so willing to throw their money down the drain.

If you buy something, use it. If you have no plan to use something right away then don't buy it.

Sounds like a bit of magic bullet syndrome to me. The most sensible way to buy WSO's is to not go browsing around for things that might interest you. Only go looking for a tool if and when you actually require one. If you are not accessing the purchase right away then it was clearly not something you needed.

Although I must admit a lot of WSO sellers LOVE guys like yourself -- those sort of buying habits are what keep the WSO forum alive and kicking :-)

As everyone else said, it all comes down to the fact that it is indeed your own mistake not to download it in the first place. Your buying habbits do need to be improved (no offence though). If you buy something, you should download it instantly. If not that, then at least download it within 2 days, because you paid for it and your money is valuable (no matter if its just 9$ or 900$, you earned it and you should value it!). But if you dont, then it is time for you to learn: If you dont care about your money (by not downloading your purchased stuff), then how do you expect others to care about it for you?

Yes, I see the point all of you are making.
On the other hand, I think the parameters ("expiration date") should be made clear in advance.
By the way, one of the wso's in question, is STILL active (available for sale), yet is not accessible via the "Access your purchase" link wso+ gives me. Maybe the real link has since been relocated?

Anyhow, thanks for all your feedback (aka pile on!). Lesson learned, I guess.

the way download pages get passed around to free loaders, my guess here is that the seller moved it to a different spot (or the page wasn't blocked by the robots.txt and got indexed). Changing locations is probably not a bad practice if one has no other way to secure their download page.

I've bought a lot of WSO's and only had this happen once or twice...

Are you accessing your purchases by logging back in to Wplus and clicking on "my account" then "purchase history"?

If you do that you will have all the past WSOs you purchased through Wplus available to you - while the thread may not be available most vendors should keep the product downloadable... Typically if it's not available it's because the vendor doesn't exist anymore and the domain has expired or something...

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,
    Coby

That sounds like my dad who buys things online, having it shipped, and never opening the packaging.
