List Management moving to buyer list

Hello All

I have read many posts here where people will move their list members to a "Buyer" list once they make a purchase. I understand this to be a good practice. But, I have a question.

Suppose my offer for opt-in is a 7 part ecourse on something or other. and within this course I offer products and say on the 3rd part of the course a member buys. Now conventional wisdom says to move that person to the buyer list, but what about the other 4 parts of the course they signed up for?

Any Help would be appreciated

Thank You

Al

My opinion - you're better off moving them
to the buyer list and then you could . . .

    A) Put those 7 lessons on a "Buyers Only"
bonus page(s) and present it as something
    looking like a bonus.

    B) Do nothing assuming those 7 lessons
are a part of the process of educating the
prospect on the subject and the product
itself should cover those lessons in more
    depth.

On this topic I've made a mistake in the
past - I send one "Lesson" one time and
I assume the person got what they needed.

I've since learned to recycle those same
messages hitting the subject matter from
    different angles, different subject lines,
    different formats, 3-4-5 times, etc.

In other words you'd probably do just
fine to slightly revise those 7 lessons and
send them to your new buyers - and
    improve customer satisfaction in the
    process.

All the best to you - X

You can either choose to keep them on the course, or take them off.

For example, you will have to make them opt in (for the buyer list) and many email marketing services (like aweber) have the automated feature to either keep the subscriber on the list, or unsubscribe them from the original opt in when they go on your buyer list.

I'm not sure what your course is about, or if it goes hand-in-hand with the product you are selling. That part will have to be up to you

    you have a few options

    1. include the free info in your paid product anyway

    2. create a download page instead and include your free lessons/info on there

    3. include your free lessons/info on your paid product download page saying something like "here are your other free lessons in case you missed them"

What i do is give away a few videos for free from my paid product and then if people buy they will get those videos as part of the paid product anyway

If you have a budget, it may help to remove them from your list..As this reduce the payment to your auto responder.

It is still alright to keep both too. It really depends on what is the AIM

    Have a nice day
