Need Advice and Ideas for Making $100 (or more) per Week

I hate to creat one of those Ï need money now threads" and won't bore everyone with a sob story but on an intern stipend and with only $10 left in my bank account to get me through till next week I'm falling off my own fiscal cliff and need to construct a parachute before I hit the figurative ground. I'm reaching out to warriors for a bit of advice. This is a scary financial situation anywhere but in NYC I'm starting to freak out a bit now.

Planning on making $100 this week to get me through until the pay period next week and then creating $100 or more each week after to create emergency savings which will prevent this kind of situation in the future and serve as a saftey net if anything should happen to my position at work.Though given the fact that I make $1400 per month that's hardly an income you can sustain yourself on yet should be easy to replace once I've gathered a bit of steam.

I've come up with a few directions to go in to do this:

-Market a service which I can perform with a quick turn around time such as article writing, blog redesign or something similar on a managable scale. I've had recent bad experience with web design for a small business and learnt the hard way I've fallen behind in keeping up with current developments... it was a bit of an out sourcing nightmare.
-Start selling things on Craigslist (this is hit or miss and I've ran out of unused electronics to list)
-Get a family member to give a loan, though just had my parents pay for a portion of my rent last month. I'd like them to think they raised a responsible adult without having to take calls from me needing money, which doesn't happen often.
- Sell musical loops that I've created over the years to individuals in online and offline media... this would require some sort of contact in the industry though. (running a WF is out as is Warriors for Hire since I can't pay to run either right now)

Wish I had more options but it's hard to think clearly when you're in low level panic mode though thankfully I live in one best cities for opprotunities to make money but there's so many directions to go in it's a bit overwhelming.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

If you are good at (and interested in) writing, I would start by taking writing projects on outsource sites like Elance or even Fiverr to bridge the $100 gap you are talking about.

I would though focus on a few niches that you feel hold potential to build your own business around in the future (so that your short-term outsource work is actually feeding a longer-term vision for content publishing as the year progresses).

Next, figure out what business modely you want to build out first - sell your content as information products (either PLR or as a paid, finished product); publish content to attract leads/buyers for affiliate products or an ad-based model of content publishing.

Once you have this figured out, start generating content for YOURSELF - don't just rely on outsourcing as this is one-time money.

Fiverr would be a great place to start for you. Get creative and try to stand out with unique gigs or catch, keyword researched copy.

    Hope this helps.

The first thing you should do is to cut back on costs. Monitor your spending, get a pen and a piece of paper, and write down everything you spend on. Even the tiniest little thing, like "Toilet paper - $5.95". If you see what you buy with your own eyes, you'll spend less money in the short term. Don't buy anything that is a "luxury" - cigarette, chewing gums, expensive meals, etc. You can save the most on food. You can buy cheap but healthy ingredients, and make some dishes yourself. And definitely check the thread mentioned above.

I think this is a great tip for not only people in their personal life, but especially for people running their own businesses (online and offline).

I find that many people in the IM industry in general get so focused on trying to make money, that they don't always think of ways they could be saving money as well. I know it isn't as glamorous to say that you saved $10000 as it is to say you made it, but it all gets filed away in the same place.

Fiverr, especially if you know anything at all about graphic design. Set up shop on Elance (everything) and iWriter (article writing only) too. Offline if you can hack it.

Oh yeah, and watch out -- Fiverr payments take a few WEEKS to clear. iWriter will pay you as soon as next Tuesday if you write enough.

I think iWriter.com is fine for you if you can write in decen English. It is useful not to get discouraged about their low payment at the beginning as Elite and Premium writers make a nice income.

  • He needs money quite soon! Recommending fiverr is not going to help him He needs to pick up traction first, and once he does receive orders, fiverr makes you wait a while to release the funds!!

Plus, if you're good at writing you'll be shortchanging yourself. Offer a service, writing, researching, video or anything else. What most people find quality will actually be easy to create I find. Include it in your signature, and start replying to threads genuinely, and hope for some messages Anything that involves someone paying you for something ahead of time, rather than something you have to setup and can't guarantee to work within a week, even if it's possible (possible doesn't guarantee you money ).

Go to all your neighbors and start offering to cut their grass, clean their garage, throw away any unwanted furnisher or items.. Clean their cars. If you need money bad you gotta do whatever it takes..

In the mean time start working on creating an income on places like fiverr and maybe offering offline services for local businesses.

Don't sleep tonight until you figure this out! If you go to sleep without your plan than you're going to stay broke. Real talk

I don't think any MMO advice will serve you well in such short period of time. These takes time and money( dun think you have now). Be creative, go to the road, ask for any odd- temp job. I am sure you can get some gigs.

Remind me of a story: a poor man bought ten packets of peanuts and split Them into 15 small packets. Manage to sell them. Make some profits and repeated it again. You can think along this line..

    All the best!!
