Is Wordpress.org Dead and Buried?

I see that the word "Tumblr" is now a more popular search term than "Blog".

In November last year Tumblr became one of the 10 most visited sites in the world. The reason thought to be that posting a status update is a lot easier than reading a blog post.

Also I see that there are quite a few WSO being released touting Tumblr to be an excellent traffic source.

So with the above being said and the search term Blog declining since May 2009, are we nailing our flag to the wrong mast by still using Wordpress.org. Or is there still life left in the old dog yet?

I would be interested in what anyone's thoughts are on this matter are...

I think it pays to use any platform that works. Wordpress in itself needs traffic, however Social platforms such as Tumblr already have the traffic there waiting for the content to arrive.

Very different perspective, here: I think it potentially pays to use any platform on which you own and control your own pages that works, and to avoid those on which you don't.

Some people have very different concepts of what the word "source" means and signifies, from others.
