I know we have a lot of Joomla pros around here. I have figured out the left and right and header and footer module positions stuff. Here is where I am having problems. I don't understand the center column content section. How do I place modules in the center content section? I want something like the following in the center section. Welcome message ad rss news feed latest content articles snipits ad Re's Rob Whisonant |

If you have a three column template, your defualt module postion are left and right. If you want to ad a mudule in your content middle area you can use the command-- {loadpositionyourmodule}. For example, if you were useing the front page slide show module and you wanted to have the moule show on the the fornt page instead of left or right, just name it fornt page in the module settings then just use the command {loadpositionfrontpage} in the articles body. Take a look at my site, in my sig, where I'm useing frontpage slde show on the home page. |

So create ONE article that is posted to the front page and then create all the modules you want to display. Then add them to the ONE article using the {loadposition modulename} thing where you want them displayed. Is that it? Re's Rob Whisonant | |

thats it. also, in order to see what positions you have available, type: http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?tp=1 into the address bar, it it will show you what module positions you have available with the current template. all templates are different.

Did you get it? This is an advanced technique and it does require some practice. Try this site I think it does a good job of explaining the process. #10 - Load a module within an article | Joomla Tips and Tricks | / | Joomla |

I don't do modules inside of articles, but rather ontop and below them. You can see here on my indigenous peoples information site. I have Adsense above, adsense below, Amazon, RSS feeds (front page only), plus recent articles on interior pages. For my template, these are all in the user1, user 2, etc. positions, plus some stacked in the footer position. It really depends on your template.
