Please advise on opportunity analysis
Hi all,
I'm having some mindblock on deciding how to research further to decide if a particular niche is worth getting into.
Background:
I'm kind of 'schooled' in info product internet marketing, and still using John Reese's traffic secrets 2.0 guides. For the last third of 2012, I had wrote and published an ebook on Adwords/Amazon, but with very limited success. I understand there are countless factors where I failed/could have done better, but now I'm starting over with pursuing research into both selling ebooks for one niche and selling physical products (trading...simply buy low and sell high) for another.
I decided to try out selling physical goods on my friends' advise, since we know of many many people my age purchasing cheap jewelry and selling 20x their cost price.
Right now I'm stuck in trying to find any kind of marketing funnel which I can model after. I understand that setting marketing funnels (ads->free report->listbuilding->salesletter->OTO) are important, so I'm trying to look for one when researching, but I can't find any. I have looked through magazines ads and visited their sites.
I saw a couple of ebay listings which were sold for those physical products, and that prompt me to investigate further. But I'm thinking I may be using the wrong mindset for this.
Can anyone advise how they decide if a physical product niche is worth going into?
What is your process?
What kind of numbers do you make the decision on?
