GoDaddy Issues... Who Else?

I have recently been trying to pay for several domains over the last few weeks on my debit card. I have money in the account, the last domain I purchased was around November.

Upon checkout I receive:

"Unfortunately, we are unable to process your purchase using this form of payment. Please utilize another form of payment, or contact (480) 505-8855 for further assistance".

I have tried purchasing a domain separately and together, I have also tried asking my business partner and my girlfriend to also try paying but still unsuccessful.

I gave GoDaddy a call and they don't know what the problem is, their response was to check if I had money in the bank PFFFFT. Also their replies on their forums were pretty much the same with several other people facing the same issue.

Has anyone else been having any problems lately? Just to let you know GoDaddy has always been my primary Domain Holder which is why I am referring to them.

Appreciate it.

that other person had to pay $199 for some spam complaint from an affiliate
why not just use another registrar with all of the problems everyone is having with them. I have never been a fan of godaddy because of the stories I've heard.

I saw that post but who knows what he was doing. If you create products yourself you should only allow JV partners and a certain number of good affiliates to help run the service not 470 as theres no way to have control over this unless you had the money to build software that could track their links and all but still...

I do hear horror stories but not everyday, so I am still unsure whether I should just completely stay away from them or not. I have always used GoDaddy so I have to think about this...

I read that post too so did a bit of research about GoDaddy. It turns out that his story is FAR from being an isolated incident, which worries me. I signed up with GoDaddy after recommendations but, unusually for me, I didn't actually read up on them myself beforehand. After what I've learned about them since I'm definitely cutting loose and transferring, likely to Namecheap. I know it could be argued that people are more likely to voice their complaints after having problems than voice their praise when things are going well but when it's an obvious pattern of complaints that are all about the same issues and these same issues are spanning a number of years, this rings major alarm bells for me.

I was warned not to use GoDaddy when I first started online and I took the advice. I have heard and know of other people who have had their accounts closed on GoDaddy. It might be time for you to look elsewhere and leave them behind. I use Namecheap and have never had a problem but I do not use them as my hosting platform.

Try DynaDot, Enom and/or Namecheap. Network Solutions is also good as well, but I find them to be a bit spammy with the emails sometimes.

I ran into the same problem one day last month. I ran a Google search and found multiple instances of others with the same problem, and GoDaddy giving the same lame reply. Two days later I made another attempt, and my payment went through fine. Whatever the problem is, it's on GoDaddy's end.
