Default Advice needed for friend who`s having bad times...

Hello.
So I have this friend he went to Ireland to find a job, from his country Latvia two months ago, because there were no career opportunities. He stayed with, let`s say friend - women who tries to control him in every way and utilize him. He now understands that this is not that what he wanted...

He started his road in IM world couple of months ago, if I must be precise probably month before he left his country. And now he want`s to go back home so he could make his way with IM, because in the place where he is now he just can`t concentrate to do anything - because he`s stressed out and he`s about to break cause of all the brainwashing going on...

So the problem is he needs money for plane ticket which costs about 160-200 euros and of course he doesn't have this kind of money. Actually he doesn't have anything.

I was hoping maybe someone will come up with some kind of advice to help my friend how to make fast money for this ticket... He`s just so frustrated that he can`t think of anything.

Ouh and his parents won`t help him, not because they can`t, but because probably they don`t want him back home or I don`t even know - and that crushed him today even more.

I know you can`t make that amount in IM in few day`s plus he has no money.
Everything he has is laptop, place to crush( not for long time ), Internet connection and no feelings left for anyone...
He now realizes that even closest friends, family can sometimes turn back on you.

I hope no one will ever be in this kind of situation as my friend!

Thank you for even reading this. My friend appreciates that. He should probably post it here, because maybe if no one want`s to help him in real life even with advice, then by posting his story here he would feel a little bit better. At least he would let it all out..

Life can sometimes play cruel jokes on people...

Thank you for your time.

Thanks for the advice. At least someone tries to help some how.
He understands that he won`t make quick money with IM.. maybe I were searching for a general advice on his situation because he`s stuck.

Thank you again

What has he been doing so far in IM? Knowing his talents and what he can do related to working online may help people in coming up with ideas he can use to make the money.

If he can write well, he could try doing some PLR packs as a WSO or writing in general. It's not the easiest way, and it sure as hell isn't for anyone but it may be a way for him to overcome his issues.

Another option could be something like do the menial tasks people don't have time for, like social bookmarking, article submissions etc... do a search of the forum and you can usually find people looking for people to outsource this to.

Or post a WSO offering his various talents at specific costs and just do a combination until he has the money he needs.

Hope that helps,
Sylvia

Juris, I've given this advice to others who needed to raise some quick cash, especially what are really not huge sums. I know it can seem like a fortune when you haven't got it, but a few hundred euros isn't that much.

Anyway, here's the advice...

Are there temporary labor agencies where your friend is staying? The work isn't glamorous and the pay isn't huge, but it's a sure thing. Depending on your friend's skill set, a few days to a couple of weeks at this should give him enough for a plane ticket.

Is there anything your friend could do for tips? Play music, juggle, magic, etc.? Find a well-trafficked area, put out a hat and perform for tips.

On the IM side, does your friend have any skills he could sell, like writing articles, doing graphics, etc.? Even doing grunt work like directory submissions and such?

Your friend needs to keep his goal in focus, and do what's necessary.

Many years ago, I found myself in a situation where I needed to raise money to pay the rent. I signed on with a temp service and spent most of the summer unloading liquor from box cars by hand or lugging empty barrels and scraping floors at an adhesive factory. Not fun or glamorous, but it felt good when it was time to pay and I had the money to hand over...

HE knows how to do headers and stuff... Have not written any article in his life.
If I could do some header graphics or graphics in general maybe that1s the way out?
Where can one find someone who needs graphics made and stuff like that?
He`s searching for a job from the day two he was in Ireland - no progress so far.

Yes John it seems like fortune when you`r left with empty pockets...

Thank you guys again.

Having a son myself, I wonder at his story Left home to shack up with a girl in another country, but she is too controlling etc. and his parents won't give him money to come back....Hmmmm.

Anyway I think that just like school, you have to study and work hard for..sometimes 2 or more years to make a living at IM, unless you have an "in" I think John McCabe is correct, maybe he will have to get a real job, even under the table.

I can tell you are a good friend to him by your plea, though, and I am just a Mom who is trying to pry her own son out of her home. (or at least clean up the mess! lol)

Heh The women at the begining helped him by buying a ticket to Ireland etc...
But now she`s trying to have a total control over him.
He understands how IM works and he nows he won`t make a quick buck online. Probably if this would be his post he would say: "I just needed to let it all out." Plus there were some good advices not about IM

Trying to have to much control over anyone will definietly end with conflict sooner or later.

Personally I think his priority is to get out of Ireland and get back home. The longer he stays there, the more bills he could have and the worse his problems could get.

Can you or his family not lend him money to get back home? Surely there is someone?

I don't know if you can use these sites over 'there', but he can make some quick money selling his graphic design skills to people through Elance, and those other online job sites. He sets up his profile and bids on projects. Graphic design can bring a good income, and in a matter of a few days or a week. Surely, within about 2 weeks he could have won a project, done the work and have money in hand to return home. I know Elance has service providers from India and other countries, so I don't see why Ireland would be any different.
