When Clickbank HATES You...

Well, to be honest, it's not that Clickbank hates me - it's just that I am having a LOT of trouble getting my product approved!!! (It's because some reviewer suspects it's 'illegal' - I have spent $1,000's on legal opinion and I know it's NOT!) I'll keep trying but in the meantime...

Is there a simpler way to pay 75% commission to affiliates?

Thanks all.

Norm.

Unfortunately the ClickBank reviewers have the last word

When they sell your products they become the official vendor and responsible for any implications that may have so they will be very wary indeed.

Also legal opinion is just that, opinion. It does not make it legal.

    You could try

paydotcom.com, very easy to join, get approval and share affiliate commissions.
JVZoo I guess but I have not really used that in earnest.

Of course you're 100% right Tony, I agree with you. Problem is that we KNOW that it's legal and there's no mechanism there to allow us to explain the actual, legal precedents that prove it's legal - other than to keep resubmitting.

      I'll try those, many thanks!

    Frustrating indeed!

But ClickBank is going to be the retailer, if your product's listed there, and they have their own in-house legal advice, which I suppose one can't really expect them not to listen to?

Well ... it isn't only "simpler" that matters here, I think? There's the fact that serious, pro-affiliates will look only if they're not going to be dependent on the vendor for payment, if it's automated, and in some cases if it doesn't involve PayPal.

Other places you might think about/look at, if it really isn't possible to satisfy ClickBank on the "legal point", might include Plimus and 2Checkout?

Be aware, though, that regardless of it being perfectly legal, perception is sometimes as important as reality, and if ClickBank's legal advisors didn't like it, that raises at least the possibility that that will also happen elsewhere. It isn't really because they're trying to be "difficult" (though it must feel like that?): it's mostly because of the constraints and demands of their own upline financial service providers.

JVZoo is a PayPal-based system (though that may not necessarily rule it out, for you?). I'd stay away from PayDotCom, though: very few serious affiliates will be interested on that basis.

Alexa, thanks. I need to get multiple sources. I'm not convinced that the CB rejection is is insurmountable, but in the meantime I'll try those.

Thanks for your detailed reply, appreciated.

The Rapid Action Profits (RAP) affiliate program is slick, and I don't know if there is any approval process needed at all. There are some categories that aren't allowed. I've only used it as an affiliate but for the vendor it has a single payment, about $175 when I looked into it a couple years ago. No other charges, so much cheaper than cb if you sell any volume.

The most money I made online came from one of their products, although it isn't around any more. There is a rapbank.com that you can post in to attract affiliates, although it is owned by someone else and does have fees that might be ongoing.

When they came out I expected them to take over from cb but that didn't happen. There was a topic here just about a week ago asking if it was dead with about 8 replies saying no it isn't dead, it's still doing an excellent job.

It's a little different and uses an odd system of payments. If your commission is set at 75%, the first sale will be deposited to the vendor's Paypal account, and the next 3 to the affiliate's. It has a lot of plug ins for people who want specific extra functions.

It's run by Sid Hale, a member here.

ClickBank of course has the final decision over what they want to sell.

And it's possible their legal opinion may differ from the one you received. It's also possible that they just don't like the idea of the product, or its presentation, etc. - they aren't obliged to accept products, even if they believe them legal.

Maybe you need to adjust the presentation of your product? While nobody in this forum is likely to know what's in ClickBank's mind, you might get some informed opinions about the sort of adjustments you could make, which might make acceptance more likely, if you post some details of your product.

I have used both paydotcom.com, very easy to join, get approval and share affiliate commissions. And JVZoo i think JVZOO is easier to set up at least for me it was.

If Clickbank doesnt approve you, take it to paydotcom.com. You have a better chance of getting approved there.

The best advice I would give you is to work with the reviewer. Ask them what you need to do in order to get your product approved.

I had almost the same issue as you and they guided me on what I need to do in order to get my product approved. It was a few days of back and forth emails.

It is going to be like a tennis match for you. Back and forth discussions with the reviewer on what you need to do next to get it approved. It may take you a few days but it can be worth it.

    Try it out.

That makes sense, absolutely, but I got no real opportunity to do so. I'll try using that approach, though, thanks!

Very frustrating Norm! I just asked them a question about something - and it took 48 for a reply. How can that be useful for anybody? 48 hours?

I agree with the advice to stick with it, though. You might be able to do a few tweaks and keep CB happy. Good luck!

What are you selling that's so edgy? No harm in disclosing as I'm sure you want affiliates (and all of us are affiliates) to promote your product.

I supppose you have to keep trying. I had been an affiliate for Clickbank, and it has the best reputation for paying us as an affiliate. With those refund policy, it actually does a great job for consumers to have trust in purchasing.

Although some people make use of this rule to play around and get free products, after which get a refund after that. This hurts in some ways to Vendors, but it uphold it's special reputation, and therefore maintain a good relationships with consumers.

Other than Clickbank, I'm not sure of other better Affiliate Network. But in general, I think you should get an Affiliate Network that is trust worthy to work with. If not, when it doesn't goes well as expected, your reputations will be ruin as well.

As for PayDotCom.com, i have bad experience with that personally in the past, so i won't recommend that to you.

I dont see the product mentioned that you're trying to sell, but each company usually displays a 'Prohibited' items list in order for the affiliates not to waste their time enrolling if the product is not supported.

Usually payment processing companies have a Risk department which go over each product and determine whether or not their company and merchant banks can process the payment. Outside legal opinion unfortunately will not assist much because the processor, like us, have our own rules which we need to abide by.

Going through and reviewing payment solutions allowing you as the Seller to pay your affiliates 75% is the best option. Checking out an Affiliates Marketplace might give you an idea of what is standard and what products attract affiliates.
