Other Authors on My Blog?

If i switch the 'User Default Role' of all my users to 'Author" does that mean they can now make posts on my blog (after my approval of course)?

If so, how would this benefit my blog?

If you have other authors that can write for your blog, that can have a variety of benefits. If they are good at writing and know a lot about a subject, they can help expand the authority of your site. They can also increase the rate at which you can produce content for your site.

Here is a good post on the topic,

If your blog has high traffic, A lot of writers want write articles (with hyeprlinks toward to their website) for your blog. So your blog always get fresh content and you can keep relationship to your readers. More fresh content = more traffic = more probabilities for monetization (for your sake).
You as "administrator" and they as "user / author", you manage them.
