Selling on amazon & giving away for free

I'm working on this special report for my new website to be given out as an incentive to sign up to my list... and I was thinking I could also publish it on Kindle and sell it for a very low price.

Is that a good idea ? What do you think the price should be for a very short (not more than 15-20 pages) special report ?

Kindle's policy is that you can't undercut the price of your eBook elsewhere. So if you wanted to sell your report via Kindle, I'd imagine you wouldn't be allowed also to give it away.

You can sell it cheaper if it's not enrolled in KDP Select (where you get the 5 free days every 90 days), so it's possible. I'm not positive about it, but I think Amazon can price match if it's cheaper, so they may make it free anyway. Still, if it's a list builder, then it could be worth it, right?

    Doubt everything you believe.

Can someone confirm this price match thing ?

I'd like to publish it more because of the experience I would get. I'm planning to publish some things on Amazon in the future...

Also, I heard that these mini publications can earn good money because of the quantity they can sell. I mean, it's only £3. That's something I could buy impulsively, if the description copy was convincing enough and it looked good.
