My Users are Running My Blog...

I have only given the Users of my blog that are responsible authors the title of 'Author' on my blog. This allows them to post articles on my blog, a blog that was originally started by myself and was only posted by myself. The authors of my blog must follow specific guidelines in order to make these posts, or else they will be removed. Is this a smart thing to do? Except for some minor updates and changes, my blog is now running itself...

This is always beneficial if you can safeguard the quality and be clear about the fact that they do not get commission (write up a policy to be sure).

Yeah i figured that. A policy is always needed. Right now, i'm looking forward to the possible SEO benefits that this could bring...

This is the best thing to have. A suggestion: Give them some good keywords they can focus on, just to get more traffic to the blog.

Having other people fill up your blog with quality content now
that sounds like a dream come true

The key thing is to make sure the level of quality is kept to
that which you have decided is appropriate so you'll need
to keep your eye on it initially.

Once it's been running for a while you'll know who you
can trust and who you can't. If it actually starts to
show a profit you might even consider promoting the
best guy/girl to some kind of editor and giving them
    a slice of the action.

    Good luck

    Steve

Yes, my main focus is trying to find someone whom i can trust to make these keyword rich postings. But the hard part is finding someone who will do this without commission...

building limited team of which we can all benefit from also struck as an idea.

I would be real careful with this. If none of what is submitted is ranking well then I would delete it all. If its content people would not link to, delete it. If what they write contains to much advertising fluff, delete it. If all the content submitted to your site is ranking within the top 50 of google for the keyword phrase, keep it.

I have hundreds of articles submitted to my site every week by users and delete 99.9% of it. Always keep an eye on your Google keyword domination, if its not increasing month to month, then thats not a good sign. Just my opinion.
