Who is using RAP? (not affiliates, I mean sellers)

Hi,

Ok, I have some basic script installing knowledge, but want to know how long it took you to install this script? How crazy is the back end set up?

I'm really close to buying it but looking for either red flags from anyone here or just an extra push.

I have a different members site, but this script is not for that.

Really here is why I think I want RAP. We are setting up some other programs for our affiliates to promote and I want them to get the benefits of the instant paypal payments from those.

So, If I have a site all ready built and it is just a matter of loading up my content and other adjustments, will this be a huge learning curve? Or with familiarity is it possible to install and get these puppies up in a day?

Also, just want to confirm - can I use the script as many times as I want?

Nothing fancy for these mini sites - just a basic site to go up with members download area and perhaps an OTO leading back to the main members site.

Can anyone point me out to anything else that I can do all the same things with so I can compare?

Thanks,

Jill

    Hi Jill

I use RAP. I'm hopeless with installing and setting up scripts, so I hire someone to do it for me at RAP Install PRO :: Rapid Action Profits Installation and Design Services

Once set up it's well worth it in terms of what it can do for you.

    Affiliates love it!

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Question for you - how much did you have the guy do? The whole kitten kaboodle or just install the script?

I really do like to do as much as I can do myself but it's good to know there is someone I can cry to.

      Anyone else?

I have him do the whole "kitten kaboodle".

It gives me peace of mind that everything is working. I'd rather do that than install it myself and worry that something will go wrong.

I use Rap and have to give it two thumbs up. I am not really a techie, but I was able to figure it out.
Once you purchase it you have access to a great forum. All members are extremely helpful. The support is stellar.
Yes once you purchase it you can put it on unlimited domains.
It is a fantastic script. And it has numerous other features.
    It's great!

    Jill,

The learning curve for RAP is not steep.
Once you've done one, the next will be easy.

And John at rapinstallpro.com is a great guy to invest in if
you do want it done for you.

Also, just want to confirm - can I use the script as many times as I want?
Yes - both for multiple products at one site, or several installs on different
    domains.

Plus, Sid (Hale) is the real deal when it comes to supporting and updating RAP too.

Go for it - it will be a good investment for what you want to do.

    Best,
    Adam

    Jill,

RAP will do all that your are wanting, has some great add ons to enhance it and is very simple to work with. Besides all the features it offers, the support Sid provides, etc., affiliates do love the instant payout and that makes it easy to find ones to promote.

Once you work with it a bit, it's easy to get the hang of.

You are welcome to contact me through my site for more info.

    Thanks,

    John

PS Thank you Adam and James for the kind words.

You can easily get RAP installed and up and running in a day. I think it typically takes me about 30 minutes or so, at least for the installation part. The part that takes me longer is the actual writing of the sales copy. That's much longer, hence my ballpark guess of it taking about a day from start to finish.

The first time it'll take you a bit longer since you'll have to work your way through the manual. But it's pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

You can use it on multiple site. But I prefer to install it on a domain that's related to a general topic, then have various products in folders. So something like dogtraining.com as the main domain, then dogtraining.com/boxers, dogtraining.com/bulldogs, etc. Then, adding a new product is just a matter of uploading a "product" folder, tweaking the salesletter template, maybe tweaking the header/footer templates and a few others, and testing the payment process.

The membership addon is great and easy to use. One of the things that's pretty cool is that if you have it setup on a domain like the one I mentioned above, you can make other products on that domain available to people that join the membership. So if someone buys the "boxers" ebook (in the example above), then you can give them access to the "bulldogs" ebook or other products sold on that domain pretty easily.

      Hope that helps,

      ~Kenton

Thanks Kenton, that's good to know for the future.

Right now I'm dealing with products that are all individual and buying unique domain names for all so will probably just install the script several times on the same server.

But wondering now from what you said if I can condense a bit. All the sites will be installed on the same server - but I have some other sites there already and a few wordpress and joomla installations.

Perhaps some shifting with the cname setting on GD so all products can be managed with one affiliate sign up - that would be good. But also looking to get the benefits from specified domain names.

Ok, here is a serious question.

I want to run a couple of tests as well for what is going to happen - but here is the question.

Is it possible to run one affiliate code on the front end product, and let affiliates insert another code for the OTO backend?

So for example, person goes to purchase, they go to buy from the affiliate who has this code

      affiliate=joeschmoespaypal

      and OTO offer shows affiliate=joeschmoesotheroffer

Joe Schmoes other offer is not an instant payment.

Can it be set up so affiliates can enter 2 codes and both will display when they make the sale?

I realize I may be getting a bit complex here.

        NO.

Nor do I understand why you would want to.
They are the same person. The same affiliate gets credit for the traffic sent to both offers, and they certainly don't want to append 2 separate affiliate IDs to a single promotion.

What is different is the offer.

Believe me, an affiliate doesn't want to log in with different IDs to see how they have performed on one offer vs. the other.

While RAP makes no provision for non-instant commissions... you can set the commission rate for the OTO to 0% and then use the Mass Pay Add On to pay commissions for that after the fact if you want.

Somehow, I feel there is something I don't understand about your motives here - so I may not be supplying the answer(s) you need.

    Hi there, Jill!

The licence allows you to install RAP on as many domains you wish. Therefore, if you want to buy different domains and install the script multiple times it is possible, but the problem is you will also have to deal with different backoffice dashboards, settings, etc...

If you are very talented and skilled towards SEO and feel that somehow you may trick BigG and friends to love your salesletter (maybe only using a blog you may do that) BUT I wouldn't put a bet on that... then maybe you have one reason for this sort of setup...

    BUT

The real power of RAP comes from the instant commissions paid to the affiliates; so basically, you will not be so concerned about SEO, as long as your traffic comes from affiliates and JV's.

If that is the case, you would certainly want to find a good 'mall' type of a setup, with a domain related to all the offers installed in its subfolders.

This gives you then a better use of your time and the ease of usage of a common dashboard in the backoffice.

You will do only one single installation of the core script and then, for each product, just upload a few files, tick a few checkboxes... and you'll be ready for sales.

As for the files themselves, RAP comes with a set of default templates for all its salesflow process.

You just take those once and tweak them to your likings, to keep a homogenous image on your domain then very easily just add different headers, footers, etc...

You can use your working websites to start with and simply edit the templates to fit your needs.

I myself have done this repeatedly before and even if it was a time consumming process, it was not exactly so hard.

However, as I wanted to speed up things a little bit, I have ordered a piece of software to be built internally (I own a software company) that could help me and other people deal with the RAP templates in a matter of minutes.

Template Genie will help you tremendously to cut off the templates tweaking and editing, without the hassles of dealing with stubborn PHP snippets that tend to be broken by the WYSIWYG editors...

No matter if you would use TG or not to help you with those templates, RAP is a great script and the most important thing is that it has a great support Forum, where Sid Hale himself (RAP's creator) is always hanging on to give you a hand.
