Normal video size for your Youtube uploads

I have made an intro video which basically shows screenshots of my work and information on what services i provide.

It is a 35 seconds video and the size is 160 mb.

Is this ok for a portfolio type of video or i should be decreasing quality and size?

thanks.

    Hi Ashish,

You could probably run it through Handbrake ( a free program from handbrake.fr)to reduce the file size by 2/3. The ideal format is Mp4.

The best screen size for YouTube is 640px X 360px (16:9 widescreen). If you use Camtasia, shoot the video in 1280px X 720px which will halve to 640px X 360px when you go into editing mode.

    Warmest regards,

    Paul

If you are talking about the file size, then it is very high, try rendering it in MP4. High def videos can get bigger, so it's good if it is in MP4.

If you are talking about video length, then go for smaller 2-4 minute long videos.

I think that what's most important is that you're able to convey your message in a concise way for your portfolio. I've seen them up to a few mins long though.
