I was wondering if the people here could share a story on their first online sale, just as a little motivation booster.

How long did it take?
How much did you make?
What did you sell?
Was it your product or an affiliate product?
What did you do to celebrate?

I can't answer these questions yet, I'm still waiting for my first sale, but maybe in a few months I can answer back(probably years, but meh )

My first sale was as an affiliate for a website building software package - $50. I was happy! Took me only a month after I had purchased the software and built my first websites. So I was VERY enthusiastic and loved the product.

To celebrate I purchased some more domain names!

I made my first sale (for my own product) on my 10th Google Adwords click. It was so soon after starting that I made the mistake of thinking it was all going to be easy!

The sale was for $29.95, which I promply lost by going 1,000 clicks without another a sale

My first sale was a foreclosure eBook I put together. I have done some real estate investing and had purchased several courses on profiting from foreclosures, so I was pretty familiar with it. (I was trying to keep myself out of foreclosure too! lol ... ) So I wrote a "How to Avoid Foreclosure" eBook and did pretty well with it at $27 I think...I also sold copies on eBay but that didn't work out as well... I don't do that anymore.

I'm not in that niche anymore but it was a good way to learn the ropes.

Are you trying to sell your own product or do affiliate marketing? Don't get overwhelmed... just start off writing a $7 report about something you know something about ... then take 10% of it and make a free report to give away...throw up a page, capture some email addresses, build a list.... you'll get there!

    Cheers, Rich

I made my first sale yesterday. After 2 months of being on my grind, I'm hopefully going to keep this up.

The key to money is once you find a way to give value, mass produce it.

    Value+mass= massive value= massive money!

I made my first sale about 9 months ago.

It was one of these $7 e-books (written by a Warrior i believe!) about making money with adsense. I had read through the book and been making a nice small part-time adsense income from 3 niche blogger blogs for the previous 2 months.

I was a member of a forum, which was kind of in the make money online niche, but unrelated to IM. I had built up a fair bit of trust and respect over the course of a few months. I then wrote a 3 part series of posts explaining my journey from reading the e-book, to implementing what i had read and then offered the e-book with a free bonus report that i had written.

Within 1 hour of finishing the 3rd and final post, i made 5 sales of the $7 e-book, so $35 in total...and then never made another sale of the book again!! But obviously that taught me a lot!!

To celebrate i believe i took the family out to dinner, which actually ended up costing me at least 4 times the money i had made!

  • My first sale was by complete accident. I made my first sale minutes after some articles went live over at EZA. Made $25, then $125 over two days.

    Cant tell you the product

My first sale was a short e-course I wrote about getting local publicity for your business.

It was 10 days after I bought John Yeo's blogging WSO. (About 4-6 weeks after joining the WF, I think.)

      I love this forum.

      Ok, motivation booster:

First Month of IM = $30 Total

Second Month: Tried my first Blog Flip = $200

Third Month = Launched WSO made $1k in 1 day.

The secret for me was what is called a "Post Mortem". If it works or not, take apart what you did piece by piece. Why did it work? How did it work? Who bought my product? Why?

Then re-focus your effort on the CORE of the success. And launch again.

My first sale.. in fact my first several sales.. came while I was dealing with cancer. The first one happened early in the morning while I was asleep at my ex fiance's house (a week before heading to the hospital for chemo). It was for a clickbank product called Peel Away Ads. During the next several weeks, without even trying much, I made a few more sales for that product and one for DLGuard from my hospital bed.

Needless to say, since I wasn't putting much effort into it the sales kind of dried up after that until I got out of the hospital and really started working on selling.. lol
