I want to start a blog on fitness. There was a time I really was fit. I had dropped form almost 300 pounds to 210 pounds. I could run forever. But of course as life goes on and the story goes, it all fell apart. I have kids now, a wife. I'm off and on with two jobs. I do get exercise through my main job, the military, but my diet has fallen apart. At the moment I don't think I'll start up a new exercise plan.

But I do know a lot about getting in shape. When I follow my own advice I do get in shape. I want to start a blog on fitness. My real big question is: How do I do this when I don't follow the advice myself? I'll need pictures. People want to see me and see that my advice shows real results. I'm not in shape, my pictures would do nothing if not turn people away.

I can use a pseudonym, but that only lasts as long as people start asking for pictures. Maybe they start asking for personal training. I can refuse certain things, but enough of refusal to show pictures and coach people will start creating suspicion.

How do you guys handle this. I know not all of you are experts or can show real results in niches you market. But you read enough to know what your talking about and know that your information can really help people.

How do you guys deal with being legit?

    1. You could focus on being military fit, even though you aren't ripped you must be able to get through your military training. I think tons of people who are interested in following military routines would be interested.

    2. You could buy pictures of someone else who lost weight.

    3. You don't need pictures to have a weight loss site. I currently am part of a site that is about a specific activity and I never tried it. I know all about it but never actually did it.

First, thank you for your service. Prior Service myself.

Also I think that it's the story that sells the product, not the product itself. People love underdog stories and I think it would be better if you were honest. It only takes a few months to get into shape as you know so start the blog at the start of your journey. Let people take it with you rather than wait until you're done. They always say that it's easier to do it with someone else.

You could promote your blog on fitness sites forums or the like as well. Take a pic every week so that bumps your posts and keeps people interested.

I think this works more to your advantage as people can keep track of your progress real time as opposed to have already done it.

      Thank you for your service.

My advice is simple. You had a life change that affected your physicality. Sh** happens. Get back down, get a self-reinforcing system in place to keep yourself there rather than just getting there for coaching/pictures, and then promote your stuff.

you need to live what you preach other wise you would be a fraud. Do a daily blog of you getting yourself back in shape, practice what you preach and use your situation as an advantage, becasue trust me your not the only person in the world with ids wife and a job. Sounds just like an excuse.

Blog about your progress, then when your back in shape then create and sell a product

share your advice. create your blog and website ... if your advices work, then your readers will see the results on themselfs ... maybe they will send you pictures and write case studies ... who knows? maybe after creating your website, you will find the motivation again to start the exercise. you know it, it's about 45-60 minutes per 24hours

Personal results and transformation are the most convincing. Also, authentic pictures add to your site's overall authority. It's all about building a rapport with your audience. Most people run away once they smell something is fake...

If you were already fit, then my guess is you won't have much trouble getting back to shape since you already experienced the reality of being fit. I mean, you can see yourself as being fit, right?

Since your self image allows you to be fit, the rest is only about your motivation. Question your "Why?". Once you find the deepest reason why you want to be fit, nothing will stop you!

    Cheers mate

    Here's a suggestion!

Let's be real! Let's share where we're at and do the program ourselves.

Let's start with taking our own pictures today.

Let's teach the step we're at and the ones we recently completed.

Big bonus? Along the way we can use our own "pictures" whatever that may entail.

    THAT's Legit, hmm?

I would get a blog up and start writing about your progress and what you are doing to get results. Blog daily and I am sure that some of your pages will get indexed by Google.

The only thing I do suggest is that you add a photo of yourself. It does not even have to be a before and after. Show your readers that you are a real person.

Then inside your blog posts, add some products that you think will be in value to your readers.

The BBB will help you with your taks of being legitimate. They will assess what you have and tell you what they think about your business. A JV with a respected expert in the fitness industry will help yo a lot to boost your credibility in the marketplace.
