Possible to make a big income with one domain?

I started IM with a blog back in 2010 but quit in 2011 cuz of dry eyes, the brightness of my screen wasnt adjusted and was a lot of hours on it like all of you guys. Been a longtime lurker and reader but was wondering if my plan on having a blog that would make a big income would be wishful thinking? Would love to create a warriors review community on here with the possibility of an affiliate income. I mean im on a great start i know im basics but wouldnt hurt to know more about seo as seo + affiliate marketing = good recurring income . DOnt put all eggs in one basket as we say i understand but IM world can so be overwhelming. good content and organic traffic with some mustard such as affiliate reviews, sponsored posts etc I would love it!!! Made money from affiliate marketing before. I would say im a newbie veteran!

Not everyone STARTS with one domain but often they end up with one domain as their prime money maker. I would for example say facebook.com is doing pretty well.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

hell, you don't even need to go THAT extreme. Some guy on a bodybuilding forum asked to interview me for his website 2 years ago, and i said sure. recently i saw this same guy posting in the "misc" section of the bodybuilding forum about IM. does over 10k a month with his simplyshredded.com website.

yes the fitness niche is a huge one. I mean i would like to do everything on my blog and the beauty with a blog is that the monetization methods are a dime dozen

anyone can confirm the different monetization methods for a blog? affiliate marketing, direct advertising, sponsored tweets and post, etc, etc.

I think having a warrior community of reviewer on your own blog is quite an exciting idea! You don't just want to make commissions, you actually want to create a great environement where people have a clue what they buying or not buying.

This is my plan currently. Hoping it pays off in the long run.

Edit: Part of me thinks that I need to find a partner/more writers, in order to keep the content coming.

Might just buckle down and start doing a post or more per day if I can manage it.

The answer to your question about being able to make money off one domain is, "yes." The mistake I made when getting started was trying to create too many blogs at once. I ended up feeling overwhelmed, and then when Google changed its algorithms, some of my blogs fell in their search engine rankings.

Now, I focus on two main websites (my blog, and my store). I am so much more focused, and I am working on developing trusted relationships with my subscribers and visitors. I think that's much more important than worrying about backlinks and SEO all the time.

Of course you can. Many successful IMers just have 1 website. But of course you need to create unique and useful website. If you want to get big income, don't think instantly. You must have high dedication to your website. Google, Yahoo and another big website need about 3-4 or more years to become famous and get big income

it's not the quantity but the quality. you might have 10 domains but end up with 1 that is the quality of those 10 ... i'd say start with 1-2 or even 3 and give all you can to those

Absolutely not possible. Most of the money that CNN.com, Google.com, Microsoft.com, Ebay.com, Paypal.com, Yahoo.com, About.com, etc. makes is from little tiny micro niche sites with no more than a few pages of highly optimized keyword stuffed pages on Wordpress blogs with an exact match domain.

its a great feeling to reunite everyone at one place and share your knowledge too. A bit like johnchow.com where all of his ventures are reunited at one place

I don't think is a matter of how many domains but how big and determine you're to succeed with it.

Actually the most common mistake beginners make is focusing on too many project at once, resulting in all the projects failing or not living up to their full potential. If you have an idea just focus on that one idea and do everything to make it succeed.

Totally agree with what many are saying on here. Best advice is really not to spread yourself too thin. Concentrate on making compound work on one or two blogs. You can't create great content on hundreds of sites, it'll end up watered down and you'll burn yourself out unless you pay VA's to do the work for you.

Just like any business concentrated effort in one area will always pay dividends over time and that's how most IM's make an impact.

Like I said i started my blog back in 2010, it was my domain name: Fazalmayar.com and didnt like and made others changes then I went inactive. Will be inactive till this summer i guess. Alexa and pagerank dropped obviously. I think it will take time but i hope to be back one day and do what i like: blogging.

Anyways, I prefer having one domain and have a lot of contents, vids and backlinking ready for that blog. I mainly blog comment.
