Is it wise to have multiple youtube channels for different niches?

I was wondering if it would be wise to have multiple youtube channels for each niche? My overall niche is Hypnosis. I have a youtube account for my Hawaii Hypnosis training videos & podcasts. I was also planning on creating a channel for my Kauai Hypnotherapy private practice. I also wanted to create a channel where I review Hypnosis training products.

Would it be wise to have a separate channel for each one of my niches? Or would this be complete overkill?

Thanks,
Antonio

    Hi Antonio,

It seems like your general niche is Hypnosis so as long as you're still related to that topic then adding videos about "Hawaii Hypnosis training" and "Kauai Hypnotherapy" would be great for that main channel.

Now if you were to create videos about dog training then it would be good to have a separate channel around that, but since your topics are all very similar with hypnotherapy then it would still be fine to all be in the same channel.

    Hope this helps,

    Paul

Thanks. I figured that was probably the best thing to do. Plus its much less work! Time to go delete that second channel

I'm a Kauai Hypnotherapist and I also have a Hypnosis Reviews blog. Needless to say I love Hypnosis ;)

I agree with Paul in that if your topic is the same, and nothing conflicts, then keep everything on one channel.

Since your videos will be closely related, creating a separate channel will be overkill. Though if you are only concentrating on this niche, then keeping a separate channel for your private practice and hypnosis training/reviews will help.

Also check the youtube playlist feature. This way you can create separate playlists for Hawaii Hypnosis training, Kauai Hypnotherapy and for product reviews and then add your uploaded videos under appropriate playlist and promote that playlist to your target audience. So the ones who are interested in Hypnosis training could be send to that playlist and the ones interested in your Kauai Hypnotherapy can be send to its playlist.

if we take a close look at what big G is doing on search engine, you'll discover that a site that command authority in most time rank first on any related search term, as for me i would rather have a single channel that command authority than multiple channel that focus on sub niche

My hume opinion is that you should have multiple targeted channel to better target your audience. However, it is important to get backlinks for the videos of your channel to get even more views.

    You can do both.

It is OK to have 1 channel and have all your videos there. I am doing this right now.

It makes things easier when you have 1 because you don't have to log into different accounts to upload different videos on different topics.

If you want some type of seperation, you could always create playlists under the main channel. If people want to see the videos you do for your Kauai practice, they pick that playlist, if they want product reviews, they choose that one, etc.
