Something disturbing about YouTube video ads...

So I found this wonderful playlist of acoustic guitar, some young dude playing some really nice tunes. I thought I would share this with family and friends, but to my disbelief - one thing that I discovered right in the middle of the play list... a YouTube Ad comes on for a music video titled "Nuts hang-(Halo) " And the whole video is of a girl's rear in a dark strip club while a guy raps over her. This is a YouTube ad that must be watched before I can get to my video (we all seen plenty of those).

I'm just glad I didn't forward the playlist to grandma. :p

My question is this... what are YouTube's criteria for video ads? I take it that they are not as strict as Google's PPC

Sadly the YouTube experience in general is getting worse in my opinion.

I used to be dedicated to the platform, but I tend not to bother as much these days.

Can you share more on your experience with YouTube?

Now that SEO is more unpredictable, a lot of people are advising on YouTube marketing.

I agree that YouTube is making the watching experience less enjoyable through advertising.

I am not a fan of Robbie Williams but it seems that almost every YouTube video I want to watch has his latest album advert on it - Yak!

On the other hand, YouTube give a fantastic service in many other ways, so turning down the sound isn't a very high price to pay for the incredible amount of knowledge and entertainement available.

If you want to be safe in the Youtube ads game, you should buy a channel in your niche. I mean contacting the owner of the channel if hou see that its videos get thousands of views per month and make him/her an offer.
