How to go from $3K to $50K in 1 year?

So...my goal for 2013 is $50K from Internet/affiliate marketing (Last year I made about $3000). Here is my priority list right now:

1. Work on my list(s). From what I have been reading here, building my list is KEY!

2. Sell to that list. Having a list is great, but being able to sell to them is a COMPLETELY different animal. Lot's of great resources on WF...it's just a matter of filtering out the noise.

3. Create niche products. Most of my income so far comes from a niche product I created. Since I have a formula to turn that into $$, I should scale up and do more...3-4 more products by the end of the year.

4. Diversify my traffic. Right now, 99% of my traffic comes from google. I keep hearing that I may be 1 google algorithm away from disaster. Any ideas on what I should do here?

If there is one thing that I should focus on, what should it be??

    Hey. Great question.

    I would say, make a goal to produce one new product every month. Make sure you get every buyer on your lists.
    In addition, make a lite version of each product as a freebie (even make it a re-brandable report if it is an info product) and use those to build your lists (with your sales page as the confirmed page).

    Put your products into a members site and make them (and future products) free for the top tier. All subscribers get their freebie in the members area as a free member. Next (paid) level they get all your products and future products at 50%.

    You will then be creating a spiders web of customers and products as well as continuity.

    With lists and a product each month, you will soon not rely on Google for your buyer traffic.

      Great advice...I would have to re-think the way I have planned product creation though as I had planned to create a few "one-off" products that would hopefully generate as much as my first product.

    Hey man, I think if you are going to focus on ONE thing then you should scale up product creation...

    Like you mentioned, you're making money selling a niche product so what if you added some upsells to that product? You would probably make a lot more money...

    Instead of creating more low-priced products you should think about developing some higher ticket upsells to add into your sales funnel.

      I actually added an "upsell" for my clickbank game (basically a bumper pack) and had an increase of about 40% in revenue overnight...

    OK, so you found out that you can earn money online with affiliate marketing. The next thing you want to do is to increase your efforts and stay consistent.

    Before you move on, let me explain something.

    Whether you are promoting your own offer or others, it is always a good idea to promote products that can bank you residual income.

    If you were to offer a product that pays you $25 per sale and over the next year you generate 100 sales, that would be $2500 that you earn.

    What if you took the same product and offered it as a monthly membership fee where you create great value to your members each month. If you have 50 people stick it out for 1 year and pay the $25 monthly fee, your income would go from your original $2500 for the whole year to $15,000.

    You can achieve that if you work with programs that pay you residual income just like I mentioned above.

    Alex, you should never rely on them for traffic in the near and far future. There was one guy here who relied on them each month. He made like $50,000 per month. One day Google slapped his site and his income went down to $10,000.

    Stories and stories like that everywhere online.

    You should do article marketing, forum marketing, video marketing, PPC, solo ads. You don't ever want to put all your eggs into one basket.

      The current product I have does not really scale that way. It's basically a one-off clickbank game (with an upsell) but it's definitely something I will think about for my next product.

      I read that in this forum...scary stuff for sure! Better to take care of that problem no than down the road when it will be much more difficult.

      I've starting looking into PPC (I tried some google with limited success and lots of $$ spent).

    You should focus on optimizing your sales funnel so that it converts as highly as possible. Since you are already getting traffic, this should not be your main priority. You might be able to make a lot more money off the traffic that you are getting right now by adding more value in your sales funnel.

    "Lists" and "SEO" and "products" are all terms that relate to what you want: More Customers

    You've got to talk to real people constantly and find out what you can provide, find out what they liked or disliked about your product, and just truly engage with as many people as you can. It's not going to automated in the beginning. Then you build more processes as you grow.

    the key is to have a plan.. and also you you have to set up GOALS for the whole year!

    This is what I have learned from one well known IMer:

    Goal #1: Simplify Business To Make It More Relaxing, Less Work and Yet More Successful By Working Smarter, Not Harder

    Goal #2: Increase Lead Flow, Increase Average Price Per Sale, Increase Lifetime Customer Value

    Goal #3: A.B.L. – Always Be Launching


    Just stick to the plan and what ever it is just keep in mind to allways grow your list

    $50k in a year isn't that big of a target. I beleive that if you can make $1 online
    you can make $50.. it's all about scaling!

    Build your list but also get as many buy buttons online a you can. That's where
    you will find money come from.. Treat your list well.. don't water it down
    by promoting too many things of others.. provide great content that builds you up.

    With 99% of your traffic coming from google I'd leverage that and start getting traffic from social media and build up your audiences there. Keep building your list. That way if another Google slap starts slappin' then you have a nice big list you can market to.

    Good that you have 3-4 products in the works - ensure that they become part of your funnel.
