collecting data for infographics

Im curious, how do you guys collect your data for infographics. It seems like that is today's shiny new toy and I was wondering how the information is collected to create them.

Thanks for input!

  • Great question asant76,

Data for infographics could be collected in any number of ways from many different sources. The thing that makes infographics so unique is not so much the way data is collected but how it is conveyed to end users. Data could come from market research, focus groups, secondary research (i.e. reading trade journals, studies, work of other researchers) or primary research (i.e. interviews, surveys, case studies, etc).

These guys seem to have it down,

Gone are the days when infographics contained only statistics and numbers. Today, they can carry interesting information which includes quotes from famous people as well. You could easily grab statistics for any niche though, from sites such as statisticbrain.com and facts from sites such as factmonster.com. These are great sites for infographic research
