Same content on Squeeze and website?

I am currently developing my IM strategy before moving forward with my niche site. I have started to develop a few articles that will be posted periodically once launch.

I was wondering if I can use the same article on a squeeze page and on my website.
Merci

    I wouldn't recommend that..

Also, why would you put the whole article on squeeze page?? The less info on squeeze page, the better it converts.. Use only a few killer bullet points and a headline

My understanding of duplicate content is having the same content duplicated on the same site not the same content on different sites.

If you squeeze page is on the same domain as your site this will do you no favors.

As stated above the best converting squeeze pages are short and sweet and to the point.

Your squeeze page should be a catchy headline, sparse web copy with bullet points and white space, and possibly an e-book offered as an incentive to opt-in to your list.

There should be no ads, links or anything else to do. Either they opt-in or they leave. This is exactly what you want.

You might want to consider these things.

Important Elements of a good Squeeze Page:

    1. Attention-getting headline
    2. Graphic of lead magnet
    3. Horizontal opt-in bar
    4. Compelling short-form copy
    5. Javascript warning popup (optional)
    6. Compelling captions under each lead magnet component

    Cheers,

On a search engine point of view, having same content and the landing page and the main site would be a problem. However, you can use rel="canonical" tag to your original page so that the search engines know which is the squeeze page and which is the original. Using the "canonical" tag is the best approach for your case. Just Google "canonical tag" and you would find more information about this.
