When sending followup emails...

Do you always add a promo link to your content emails? For instance, I send a promo email promoting an affiliate (Maybe 2 links per email) offer then maybe a couple days later I send just a content email full of information regarding my niche. Should I leave the promo link on the bottom of my content email or take it away and just have it content only?

Thanks

If people are clearly reading and acting on the first email, I think there is nothing wrong with reminding them about it, or letting them know there is a webpage with more information. If you aren't getting good responses, stop, and go back and improve your technique for a later time when you can send out something worthwhile that gets responses.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

You can always send them free content in every single email and then at the bottom, you can add 2 or more links. Nothing wrong with that. I have done this in the past with good and solid results.

Sure, as long it is helping conversions. You can even try putting an image with a link to the product at the bottom of your content emails.

As long as the main email itself provides value, you can promote all you want.

People react to PS. in emails. I will send 4-5 educated emails before I send my offer.

In those educated emails I will have something like this - PS. To speed up the process on learning bla bla bla. Then have my link with it.

Its basic psychology on how people react to the PS. AND you are not selling them anything. You are giving them the option.

Learning the psychology of marketing will give you a big head start on the reason why things are the way they are. Instead of having people just say, yes it is ok. You need to learn why it is ok.

There are many different theories on this but in my opinion I think that if you are promoting your own or affiliate products via email you should usually have some sort of pitch with a link in the email, whether it's a hard sell or soft sell you should mix both in...

Some emails you should directly ask for the sale like you do...

Then when you send your content emails put a PS section and say if they want all the info on whatever the problem is click here, this will get you more clicks and next time you pitch that product the person will feel more compelled to buy because he/she has already thought about it.

I'm going to let the cat out of the bag here a little

I don't actually promote something in every email but I do include a link to my sales page etc in every email

A simple signature link going to your sales page works wonders and if people often see this link they will eventually buy when they feel most comfortable and trust you enough

Apart from that my ratio of free content to a hard sell/soft sell to my own product is 1 in 3
