Hello,

I own a network of travel websites (well 3 at the moment, I intend to expand in the future) each of them serves a specific country and gets a fair amount of visitors. However, I am looking to expand by adding a forum to each of the websites. Now I have two choices:

1. Dedicated forum on each website. Of course they will be fairly empty if people don't sign up.

2. Purchase a new domain name and host a full-blown 'travel forum' which is linked to from the main websites. Benefit is that I can see what sort of countries are most popular and it will most likely have a great deal more visitors.

What option should I choose? Niche or General?

    Or, if you must choose only one method, go with the latter.
    People who travel often go to different countries, so you will
    have more repeat visitors/customers.

    Also, you won't have a hard time coming up with tons of
    great content-- Which is the absolute #1 reason people
    will sign-up for your forum.

    If you want to develop a forum on a large scale like this forum then the latte is the better option. If you want to have a discussion point for your readers the first option will be fine.

      I'm most likely going to go for the second option to be honest. I feel as though my turnover of visitors will be far too high on single locations for any real community to be formed.
