Amazon Domains and Mini v Authority

So, I realized that in 6 months, my amazon sites only earned $230 So now it is time to get my butt in gear and start REALLY working. I learned (maybe?) that one of my problems is that I am trying to build authroity sites, when i should be building a site for a SINGLE product to start earning income, and then building authority sites on the side...

Anyways on to my questions. I am following a pretty well known azon course, it is telling me to use brand names in my domain, but I heard this is a big no-no, thoughts on that?

My other question is, did the recent google updates slap niche sites? I mean they would have 5-10 pages...but still, are those even reputable anymore?

Don't register domains with brand names. You're asking for trouble. It would suck working on something for 6 months then getting a C&D and losing all of that time and effort.

Google has definitely made some changes but what was true years ago is still true now. Quality content + proper optimization (on-page and off) is going to help you rank. Large sites or small. Doesn't matter IMO. That, and don't try and rank for terms that have a lot of tough competition.

Okay, thanks, I think I will just choose a broad term, as long as everything is optimized (and the domain is the same catagory as the page) then I should rank fine!

I am working with AMAZON for 1 year now with some success and you shouldn't take any brand in your domain name. You can earn lots of money with AMAZON withour having problems.

My advice is to create an authority site, with a good domain name ( don't be afraid of EMDs), get a premium AMAZON theme, hire at least 1 good content writer and do a proper niche research.

From that point you can start and build some a serious project.
