How Do I Add A Pdf File To Wordpress And...

Hi...

I was not able to get a link from my hosting company for my pdf that is saved there so I can offer as a free report via a responder and add the link to the page so they can download, they were not able to do it...strange shame on you

Anyway,

I need to know how to then add a free report as a pdf to my website that is password protected, that they can download once they subscribe and the autoresponder sends them the link to download and that it is not indexed in search engines as welll...

I am having problems with following:

1) concerned about it getting indexed and people getting it that are not supposed to get it

2) don't know how to make my free report that is in PDF format available on my website for download...

3) can it be encrpyted

4) how do i offer 2 chapters only from report ... how is this done ?

    For anything Wordpress related I always check the WP Plugin directory first

    I use Magic Members for my site, which does have a good document delivery module in it, might be a bit of an overkill for your right now, but Wordpress Membership Plugin | Wordpress Membership software | Magic Members if you are interested.

    For question #1- You can put a line in your robots.txt file stating that the directory is not to be crawled or indexed.
    #2- You will need up upload your PDF to your server using an FTP program of your host's file manager. You can put it in a sub folder or in the main folder. There are some great tutorials on Youtube on this subject.
    #3-You can password protect your PDF. If this is done through an Office application for Windows, then you can use these instructions:In an Office application, click the Create PDF button in the Acrobat task ribbon.
    Type a file name and select Protect PDF.
    In the resulting Security dialog box, set up a password and permissions as desired.
    Click OK, and then click Save.
    #4- To offer 2 chapters from the report, I would either create a seperate PDF with those two chapters, or create a page in your Wordpress site, if you are using Wordpress, with those chapters, and password protect it. Then give the password to the opt-ins or whoever you wish.
