How Important is the Website Name in the Header?

Hi Warriors,

I've recently started building Amazon affiliate websites and have a question. How important is it to have the domain name in the header?

For instance, if I have a website called www.smallcuddlywombatsforsale.com, would it be odd to have Small Cuddly Wombat Reviews in the header?

Thanks,
Antony.

P.S. I'm not promoting small cuddly wombats.

Are you asking from an SEO perspective?

I don't think it will make much difference either way but I am not an SEO expert, then again who really is?

    Hi,

Thanks for responding. Not from an SEO perspective, it's a logo file so it won't be picked up. I'm just wondering if it would have a negative impact on conversions?

If I were a visitor/buyer visiting your site, I would probably want to see your domain name and a logo to tell me exactly what you were selling. Try to get into the mind of the buyer and think from that angle.

Technically, it won't really matter. Nevertheless, it is always important for prospective buyers and visitors to know what website they are on and what exactly it offers. So placing the website name on the header is not a problem at all.

Another issue you'd have is people trying to return to your site may not be able to find it.

If your domain name is smallcuddlywombats.com and your header says Small Cuddly Wombat Reviews, people trying to return to your site would more than likely type in smallcuddlywombatreviews.com as opposed to the actual URL.

That's a very fair point. Thanks for everyone's thoughts. I've decided to just create a banner with both the domain name and what the website is about:

i.e. SmallCuddlyWombats.com with "Expert Reviews" underneath. Something like that should work for situations when I don't have "reviews" in the domain name.

Thanks again for all of your responses.

it makes a strong impression, just like if you are moving in a market and found a hoarding , so somehow it gets into your mind, so in the same way website name in the header plays a vital role to promote you site.

just as ref take google example
