How much time do I really need?

Well, I am that person with all the excuses. Because I study and have a part time job.
Because of this I don't get to do the things I want to do. I go to school every weekday from 9 to 5 and I work in the weekend from 9 to 5 too.

I really want to start a business right now. But my mind is playing with me.

How much time do I really need, to create a good business?

I spend maybe an hour (sometimes 2) per day on my own Amazon affiliate sites.

I post a few product reviews per day, targeting low-competition products. By doing it this way, I don't have to worry about back-linking.

Truth is that nobody knows as there are so many factors, like how much time you have, how productive are you when you spend time on it, what do you know, how quick you can learn, where you learn from, the market you target, how much money you have, what you want to achieve and how quickly you need to reach that target.

The quickest way to earn is offering services although these with the skills you possess.

The problem is how long the work will take you and how much you can charge.

You will also need to leverage platforms with high traffic to create awareness, Elance and Fiverr etc are cool for this but how many jobs will you need to do per week to reach your target and is this possible through these sites even, and will you have the time to complete them.

Affiliate product or your own digital products can be automated but then you need time and money to set up the funnels plus expertise of doing so, or know where you can get that expertise within your budget.

    Bawo -

I'd look as this question from the opposite
    perspective -

You could spend 12 hours per day working
the low end or 30 minutes per day working
    the high.

In other words, the question to ask is "How
    much do I want/need . . . and how much
does my time need to be worth to do that?"

You're looking for the skillset and the business
model that fits your life . . . don't make your
life fit an existing skillset or paradigm.

When you know the required time-value then
you can seek out the right things to do to
make your time worth what you want - it
doesn't work the other way around.

So "how much time do I need" is an irrelevant
    question. ;-)

I prefer affiliate marketing and PPC because
    of speed and leverage.

You *can* crank out product but that's a
    bigger job, a bigger risk.

It's so easy to leverage what other people
have already worked their butts off to build -
    take advantage.

All the best to you - X

You should get coaching first from the WSo section of this forum, and spend a couple of hours per day

    @ .X.

I never thought about it in that way. So its about the qaulity of your work and not about how much time it takes?

If you are really serious about success online, then I would do what ever it takes to find some time each and every day to learn the ins and outs of an internet business.

Find a good mentor, which sometimes is not as easy as it sounds, and do everything that they teach on a consistent basis.

Try to put all your excuses on the back burner.

Start reading motivational books on how to get rid of excuses and how to start believing in yourself and start to take action.

You say that you work everyday from 9AM to 5PM......

So from 5:30PM-10:00PM everyday on the weekdays, devote your time to your internet business.

You should determine which field you want to start and how much time you want to spend is also depend on how much effort you are willing to contribute prior to get started on the initial stage.

You may spend 2-3 hours a day and to a more hours after 1-2 months.

Get a mentor to guide you on the way. This could save you a lot of things.

The time needed as an investment as compared
to capital needed as an investment off-set each
other. more capital = less time and vice versa
(most of the time). There are deviations
from the rule based on your skill sets and talent.
Also, it's highly dependent on what you value more.

Put your marketing on autopilot with paid advertise. Use some of the funds that you make on your job and put it towards getting targeted traffic to your site. This will streamline things until you get more time to do free marketing. Just make sure you're making money from the advertising that you put in.

Your initial steps will take time, hence that's where when your going to use most of your time researching and formulating a plan. That could be 10 hours a day for 6 months, or it ccould be much much less if your sharp, have focus and stick to your game plan. Once you have learn the basics, you wont need to dedicate as much time to your projects.

With anything, when you first start you make many mistakes and spend muchos time - the more you do it the better you get at it and the easier it becomes.

It can be only 1 hour a day as long as you stick with it, working maybe 10 hours a day and then not sticking with the method can bring you nowhere. Make a plan, test, test, test, find the working thing and scale it up. Yes you need time but few hours a day is all you need to start.

You should devote your time to creating a product because you will be able to build your list at the same time... and then recommend affiliate products to that list if you want to so really you're killing 3 birds with one stone... (if that makes sense)

But ya, to create your own product you could do it in a month no problem if you work part-time on it. Try and take 1-2 hours each day and devote it to creating your product, sales material, and setting up the download pages and you will be off and running in no time!
