Am I Missing Something With BFM 2.0

Hi Warriors

I have a quick question about Butterfly marketing 2.0 to any of you who may have purchased it or are familiar with BFM. I was led to believe that there was software with this package such as scripts for setting up membership sites etc. Could anyone explain to me what's involved and if there is any software for making sites or is it just a guide.

There is no software for making the site. What you get a special script that can be use to help make sales. The script is like a shell where you put in your own front page and design. There should be a guide on how to set it up though.

      Hi,

Yes... BFM is a script... it is a shell of a membership site, like has been explained.

I purchased the BFM script and found that it is extremely difficult to set-up
and get going, so be ready to spend some time getting it going.

Although it is pretty powerful... there are much easier ones to use!

    Thanks guys.

So is it just the manuscript that we follow to help build the sites or is there something in the back office I am missing?

The manuscript is more of a way to run your system like, creating a buzz, pre selling, creating a sales funnel etc

      Quick steps are

      Build your BFM website.
      Have a good front product
      Have a good OTO
      Have a good downsell OTO
      Done....

Now that they are on your email list, do some email marketing for backend products

manuscript and script are not the same thing. The manuscript is an ebook, the script is code that you install on your server. I haven't received mine in the post yet, but I believe Mike says the software/script is on the first disc.

I set up BFM 1 for somebody at one time, and it wasn't too tough. It was made a little more difficult because there were some database fields that weren't being created with the install.sql file, but I resolved that.

I haven't installed this one yet, though, so can't really help there. You have to download the script from the website, though. Put the mp3 cd in your drive (they got the labels wrong on the first 2 disks) and it should auto-run, pulling up your internet browser to the website. You can then download it from there, along with a bunch of videos that teach you how to get it running.

You do get access to the BFM script but it is not in the package you were mailed.

You need to log into the paid members area of the BFM site to access the script downloads. If you load the first disc in the cd series it should open up an html page that will have a link to access the download area.

Be advised that if you bought the 2.0 deal then you may not be able to access the downloads area yet. There have been some issues with people who purchased not being able to get access.

Submit a helpdesk ticket and they will get to you when they can. They seem to be flooded with requests so there is a big backlog.

just freakin' great.. I have a project on hold, waiting for this.
How hard is it to set up a password protected members area? heck, isn't that even a part of BFM itself?? hopefully the problem is just with people losing their log in info or something...

From what I have seen at least one of the issues is the site wont let you register. When I got my package 2 days ago I went to the site to register and it told me I needed to sign up with the paypal email address I used during payment.

I use only one email address so I know I have it right but the script kept telling me I was using the wrong email. When I went to the BFM forum I found several people who bought the 2.0 package have the same issue.

      umm.. no

The gist of BFM is to get leads by giving away a free or very low cost product to get people into your lists then upsell them on a higher price product on the backend.

There is a whole lot more to it than that but that is the stripped down condensed version of it

They give you a disk that simple redirects you to the web download area. Its fluff filler for the package.

They could easily send you over to a download area after your purchase. I would not be surprised if they did the access issues on purpose to create buz even though negative buz is still buz.

I was confused as well thinking the script was on one of the CD's. Once I figured it out it was pretty straight forward. Download the zipped file online from the members area. There are also some videos to walk you through the process. I was able to setup it up pretty easily by watching the videos.

The other stuff all the CD's and stuff that's just so they could mail you stuff. :-) I haven't watched any of the CD's that came with it.

I didn't care for the newsletter. I didn't get much out of it so I canceled. I must say Mike F. makes it really easy to cancel.

For all the complaints I've heard I felt the whole process was very smooth. I didn't have issues ordering (good timing I guess), the package arrived in the mail fast. They sent out an email letting me know they had shipped it. The script is pretty easy to setup with the videos. And the process to cancel the continuity program was very easy, nothing hidden. So no complaints from me.

Hey MIB (and all other new bfm owners who need help getting started), here you go:

The Quick and Dirty Guide to Getting Started Making Money with Your New BFM 2.0 Script

1.login to your admin panel dashboard.
    2.click the "site templates" link
3.click the main page menu to choose how you want the menu to appear on your homepage (ie., vertical, horizontal, etc with the examples provided)
4.copy the code that's provided in the template 'box' there with your mouse
5.open your html editor you use to create websites in another window
6.click the source code tab of your editor to open it
7.paste the code you copied from the 'box' in your site templates in bfm into the
source of the page you're creating in your html editor.
8.create your salespage in your html editor.
9.open the source code again and just select all and copy the entire source code
which now contains the code you copied from bfm
10.paste the source code back into the site template 'box' inside your bfm where
    you have it still open.
    11. save it to save changes.
    12. take a look at your homepage now.
You'll see the menu appear the way you chose either horizontal, vertical etc and also
    your salespage there.

*Remember, you can use your homepage for offering something free just to get the new member signup or you can sell a front-end liquidating offer to get the sign up
    and then offer the OTO.

(We're about to get to the powerful part here which makes you the money)

    13. Inside your admin panel you can find site settings
    14. Check the box to have "OTO appear immediately after signup"
    15. Create the salespage for your OTO (one time offer) to appear to each new
member who signs up to see.

Remember, you don't want to tell your members that this is the only time they will see this offer,

but that this is the only time you will see this offer at this price.

Now, you're about to see why and basically have all you need to write your own
paycheck from here on out provided you "get it", so read carefully.

Once your new member signs up after either joining as a free member to get
a free product you offered or by purchasing your front end product,

they will have access to their downloads in the members area

and they will also have their own affiliate link to your membership site
    auto-generated by the script.

Remember when you told them in the one time offer that that would be the only
time they would be able to get that offer for that price?

Now you can be glad because guess what else your members will see in the
    members area?

A link or a couple of links depending on how many memberships you created

telling them "You qualify for the following upgrade: gold"
and "You qualify for the following upgrade: platinum"

(the above are used just for examples to give you a structure because you can
choose whatever you want to name your memberships when you create them
in your admin dashboard from within the admin panel of your script)

Guess what they get when they click on the gold membership upgrade link?

The same offer as the OTO except this time it is a Higher price!

    Here's what you just did

Now think about that for a moment and let it sink in to see exactly what you have done with this:

    1. You re-inforced your credibility by living true to your word that the one time offer
is the only time they could get the offer at the special price because now they cannot get it at that price anymore....just like you said.

    2. You have opened up an extra income stream for yourself using the same offer.
Remember some will purchase the one time offer the first time and some
will purchase the upgrade from within the members area.

    3. You have proven your integrity to your members and that you mean business.
In other words, if I say this is the only chance you have to get this offer at this price, then this is the only chance you get. Period. If you test me on this, then you pay more.

4.That has 'trained' your members to take you at your word so that they will
now buy immediately from you if they have any interest in the offer at all because they now know that they will not be able to get the same deal later at that price.

    5. If they don't, you win because when they upgrade later, you get paid more=more money for you.

6.If they do, you win because when they purchase the one time offer at the special
one time only price, it's instant income for you.

7.No matter which way they move, you win.

8.No matter when they buy from you, they win because you made a high quality offer which is loaded with value they can't get anywhere else except from you.

Extra Ways to Make Money Maximizing Your BFM 2.0 Sites

1.You can also choose to just take away some of the bonuses and offer basically the same offer for a lower price as a downsell. (This means an extra offer and extra income stream for you!)

2.You can choose to have multiple upsells and downsells:

*ie., for those who buy> upsell,
*for those who don't buy>downsell (instantly creates 2 more income streams for you!)

That's even more money you make
from the same basic offer using the strategies I just gave you for maximizing the power
    of your butterfly marketing script.

3.You can also get the affiliate toolbox to generate your affiliate promo tools quickly
to give all your members the easiest ways to make more money just by using your
promo tools you provided for them. This greatly maximizes your profits even more.

There are other tips, tactics and money making strategies you can use to leverage more,
but what I gave you here in this post
is enough to get up and running quickly making money.

Of course you can get extra help in the caterpillar area provided for support.

Hope this helps you get started :-)

Althought I don't have my package yet, from what I could see there was no reason to make it a physical product other then to be able to charge shipping and handling (ie, getting your credit card info for the recurring billing stuff).

I agree that a "digital option" would have been cool - I could've downloaded the script while waiting for the physical stuff to arrive. But then you may get people that just download the script and cancel immediately without giving the newsletter (continuity) a fair shot.

Either way I'm satisfied - hard to complain when ya' get a super good product for super cheap! Plus the site said it may take up to 30 days to get to Canada but thankfully it came much quicker

    Hi,

It's very easy to cancel. It is a learning curve though, take your time.

The registration issue I had, and others should be aware of if selling physical products. There was a link on the front of the members area (a small button) that said 'Confirm', if you don't click that, your address is not confirmed and nothing ships! Finally after about 7 days I realized my product wasn't coming, went back to the members area and clicked the 'Confirm' button - and within 2-3 days I had the package.

Good stuff, and worth the price (shipping only).

Mine shipped last week so I'm guessing it should get here soon, but I already have the script. Ordered through Get My Software Free and it gave me the "digital option" but it took a little time dealing with the helpdesk to actually get my account set up in the members area so I could download.

Hi guys I too have been getting stuck in with the BFM script, I mamaged to install the thing however I think it's very buggy due to using hostgator, I had change the permissions several times to get teh install to work ans i beleive that its the reasom why i am getting stuck on afew issues.

Is there anyone out that I can outsource this too? I just can't be spending 3-5 hours a day getting bugs and stuck on each step

The solution a lot of people are finding with HostGator is pretty simple, really (and this advice might hold true for most cPanel hosts these days).

When you upload the script, don't change any of the permissions. Leave all the files as 644 and all the directories as 755. If you know about unix permissions you might think this won't work, but trust me, leave the permissions alone and just go through the rest of the installation steps. The script seems to work fine when you install it this way on HostGator and certain other hosts that don't like you using the more "open" permissions (like 666 or 777).

Hi steve, I think I figured it out in the, but are you sure that the permission settings will not affect customizing the site? I am stuck on chaning the form fields pros[ects would see on the front page, they just doen change when I tick the boses. I also ca'nt seem to get any cahnges when i chnage the main template, the script to me is behaving in an unusual way, it implements the changes in main setting such email, paypal details etc etc, but any major changes like site templates etc nothing happens, do you have any idea what this might be?

You might want to play with the permissions for your templates (that shouldn't cause any problems with HostGator).. but a lot of cPanel based hosts these days are using something like suPHP or PHPsuexec so changing the permissions shouldn't be necessary.. since PHP is running under your own hosting account rather than Apache's account (usually "apache", "nobody" or "httpd") it should have no problem writing to your files with the default permissions.

Launch day was a nightmare. I got mine 2 weeks ago. Listening the audios. Have already watched many of the training videos for installation as well as using the template.

The manuscript is awesome. I have so many ideas that I really need to stay focused on one project at a time. I am going to need to lock myself in the room when I do the install. But the videos make it seem super easy. But I am sure with most things there is a learning curve. Get the first one up and running and the next ones will be a breeze.

I'm still waiting for my printed copy, but I've read the "digital" version and I have to say, the manuscript alone is worth a lot more to me than what I paid for "shipping and handling" for the whole course.

As far as installation.. it's true there is a learning curve just like anything else.. and with any web script you have to keep in mind that different hosts have different environments that might require you to change or skip a few steps in the installation. For example some hosts require you to follow the instructions about changing permissions to 777 for certain files and folders.. other hosts don't need it and some will totally bomb on you and refuse to run the script at all if you change the permissions to 777. In general though, if you're familiar with installing scripts on your web host you should have no more trouble installing this than you would with any other script. When it comes down to setting everything up once it's installed, that's a little bit different story. It's a powerful script with a lot of options so you'll want to take your time and play around with the settings to see what you can and can't do with it.

Has anyone who ordered that package in the last promotion been able to download the script?

I can't log on to download, says password is wrong, I have even tried having my password resent and no email arrives.

Submitted a support ticket but have not heard back.

Tried calling the support number listed in the package and get voice mail instructing me to log into support forum.

Logged into the support forum and no help, just see others with the same issue.

    Very frustrating. ARGH!!!

Any suggestions on what I can do to get things working?
