How Can You Do This With An App?

You know if someone subscribes on your website. Your autoresponder service gives you the ability to send out a HTML email to them

If I had an an APP that people downloaded. Could they subscribe within the app and then have (aweber, mailchimp or one of the others ) display that HTML email to them in the app?

Or would it be better to use push notification and have on my server something which pushes whatever I want to send in HTML to them?

I would want it to DING them ( you know like it does with games when an update is ready )

Any advice appreciated.

What is the purpose of this? You already have e-mail on most phones, therefore the auto-responder software will work as-is.

This just sounds like creating an app for creating an apps sake.

This isn't a difficult thing to do, it's just pointless as it can be achieved through a mobile site with an opt-in box on it.

Thinking your idea through - you'd have to sit with the app open waiting for it to send you a piece of HTML which it would have to display through the phone's browser? The app seems to serve no purpose whatever?

If this is a way to get onto the users phone, and then hit them with messages - what is in it for them? What do they get out of the app, to stop them realising this and uninstalling?
