Do you have to have a facebook account to create a facebook page? and one other question...

1. I just want a page for my new business where I can update people and get likes, do I have to have a personal facebook account before i can do that?

2. I notice they have different types of pages for different things. Why? Aren't they all the same or do some restrict you more than others? I want to go with a page that hasn't any restrictions. ( what is most common?)

    1. No, you can create a page here: Create a Page | Facebook

    2. You mean different niches? Or where some pages allow anyone to join and other restrict who can join?

    1. Already answered.

    2. There are different "types" of pages to help with search. If you want to create a page for a specific niche, then at least Facebook allows you to be put into that niche and thus be easily found by people who search for your type of Facebook page.

#2. Are you talking about the different categories you can choose from when you create your page? I don't think any of them have different restrictions if that is what you are asking.

This probably seems like a really weird question in this day and age, but what does a Facebook page actually do? What's it for and how does it differ from a page on your own site? Can anyone post an example (not necessarily their own) just so I can get the idea?

Up to now, I've managed to avoid having anything to do with Facebook, but it has left me with a few gaps in my knowledge
