Adding Squeeze Page Template to your wordpress site

how do I add a squeeze page to my WP site? through the plug-in section, theme section?

It's sitting there as a downloaded zip file on my desktop.

    Unzip it and see if there's any instructions.

    It's hard to help you without knowing exactly what you've got.

    Asking "is it a theme, is it a plugin" etc. is like asking people to
    predict what color underwear you're wearing

    1. go to your CPanel
    2. create a separate folder in file manager
    3. upload the squeeze page to it.
    4. there you go. Your squeeze page.

      You can try it the old fashion way...
      -- wordpress dashboard
      -- plugins (add new)
      -- upload (browse for file on hard drive)

      I just did this task. Now I log into my WP ans cannot find any remnance of this "uploaded squeeze page"

      what am I missing?

        I bought the paper-template plugin the other week for my site. Can produce really good squeeze pages with it and lot's of other stuff.

        It saves messing about with different squeeze pages and looks so much better.d

          It sounds like you already have a working site and theme. Unless the squeeze page is already formatted as a theme template, it won't work.

          Try a search for "how to add a template to a WP theme", and you should be able to find a simple tutorial for making the necessary modifications and addint the new template to your existing theme.

            To be honest all I've done is just add wordpress to my domain via the cpanel. It's just the default theme wordpress comes with. I'm in nowhere binded to it

              Fair enough. Now you have three choices, and can pick your poison...

              > Find and/or buy a theme with a squeeze page template.

              > Find and/or buy a plugin.

              > Find a theme you like and spend a few minutes adding a template, or hire someone who can do it in five minutes.

              If you want the traditional "squeeze" style page where the only choices are opting in or hitting the back button, you could run it as a standalone html or php page and just link to it from your blog.

        If you`ve already done that and it doesn`t work then your squeeze page is in .html format ... Here is how you can do it:

        Extract the .zip folder on your hard-drive (make sure you modify it and put your own autoresponder form in there - you can find how on youtube ), open the index.html file with a notepad and add this php tag at the top of your page( it should be the first line of text in your notepad file):

        <?php /* Template Name: Squeeze Page
        */         ?>
        Save your file as a .php file (click on File - Save As - squeezepage.php ) and then upload all files that were in the .zip folder (including the squeezepage.php that you`ve already modified - you don`t need the initial index.html file) on your host in this exact location:

        public_html/wp-content/themes/theme-that-you-use/

        Don`t forget about the images folder and any other files that you have in the .zip ... You should put them all in your theme folder as separate files and folders(not in .zip format )

        Next STEP
        Login to your wp dashboard click on Add new page - name it Squeeze Page and from the right menu, under the attributes box choose the template that you`ve create - it should have the name that you`ve added in the php tag - Squeeze Page if you`ve followed these steps.

        Leave the content of the page empty, click publish and that`s it. You can now preview it an see if it looks good.

        If you want to add it as your home-page you can go to Settings, Reading Settings, click on Static Home Page and choose the page that you`ve just created ...

        Consider your Squeeze Page being the home page that this guy uploads on his website. Let me know if you need more help,

    There are various plugins that will allow you to design your own squeeze page but most of them are not free. Here's one:

      konrud is correct sort of...But I'd recommend if you're serious about your business, to bite the bullet and get a good plugin or theme. Also an autoresponder for your optins. AWeber is a great choice and you can get it for $1 for the first month. If you're serious about your business then it's just a cost of doing business.

        Yes, you can create a subfolder and have a straight HTML squeeze Page and reverfence it as www.mysite.com/squeezepage.

        OptimizePress is a WordPress theme and it creates very nice squeeze pages and much more but it's not the cheapest solution. If all you need are squeeze Pages OptimizePress can be a pricey solution but a very workable one. It all depends on your budget.

        The great thing and the worst thing is there are numerous options for creating squeeze pages. Many great free resources as well.

    Just make one template add Get_header, Get_footer, add The_title, The_content.
    make new page and select your template.

      Optimize Press is an AWESOME theme and comes with a ton of features with squeeze pages being one, but it's not a very cheap solution.

      I have found a theme that has many of those same features for less than half the price. It's called The Product Launch WordPress Theme. It makes creating Optin forms, squeeze pages and sales letters a drag and drop option with numerous premade templates or create your own.

    You'll never mentioned if your squeeze page is in html or what it is.
    if it's in html then when you upload to a file as others mentioned above you won't see it in wordpress when you login because wordpress is in php.
    If you really want to see it in wordpress you have to convert it to php first and then post it in wordpress.
