The Sales funnel structure

Which is the best business model in terms of sales funnels? Ask your buying customers what they want to learn next or setting up higher end training automatically for customers to buy that go deeper into the concepts of what you taught in your front end? Asking the customer sets up the possibility of segwaying into sub-niche, and maybe even setting up another sales funnel in a sub-niche maybe etc.? A little confused as you can see help.

Here is a quick sales funnel that I and I'm sure many others use.

Traffic (paid or otherwise) ---> Capture page (if they close have a pop up with another freebie to entice them) ---> Email list (build a relationship) ---> Separate list into buying and non-buying (non-buying doesn't mean they won't ever just means they aren't pulling their CC's out right this second) ---> Offer buyer high ticket item ---> Offer nons a much cheaper item ---> Continue to build a relationship with your list (take polls if you want) ---> Continue the funnel and promote attractive GOOD offers to your trusted list (always rememeber to circle back around to your high ticket items) *** Rinse and Repeat

There's a nutshell (a tight one at that) for you

    Hope it helps!

Why not do both? Test them yourself and see what works best for your specific customers.

I would test it except I'm just barely starting my business. I thought of this concept because I was looking at examples of other "gurus" businesses and trying to deconstruct them and make it make sense of why they structured there businesses in certain fashions.

How did you create your high ticketed items? Did you take a survey of those people that has already brought your front end product and see what they wanted next? Or did you just went along ahead and created the high ticket item without asking them, and created it that goes deeper into the concepts of what you talked about in your front end product (I don't know what your business is so just assuming it's some sort of training that you may provide)?

    I do this, currently:

Traffic > Optin > Build Relationship > Low Priced Offer > Build Better Relationship > High Priced Offer > Start over at step 2.

Also, in my 1st and like 7th email, I ask them to take a short survey. (The same survey...once I get more data, I will change the 7th email to more specific questions about products). In it, I find out what their biggest struggle is, how often they want me to contact them, and what kind of learning style they prefer...

This will give me information I need to create products that help them with exactly what they want help with.

Do you take the survey only at the beginning before they buy something or do you take them afterwards or both?

I send it in my first follow up. Then a reminder later on, after I have made an offer.

Once I feel I've gathered enough data, I am going to create the product they told me they want. Then, I will share the survey results and make the offer.

Some will buy. Some will never buy. Yet I continue to teach. If someone finds my content to be helpful, they will share it...and those people may become customers. If not, the people they share it with may.

Can I ask, are you guys using this for MMO related products or for other non-MMO products?

Say, if I had a golf guide, would I be able to apply this same model? If they opt-in without buying the product (ebook), perhaps have parts of the guide in follow up emails so as to build trust?
