I rather prefer the wordpress plugin "prettylink" to do that, instead of having to buy domain names then forward them.

PrettyLink allows you to mask multiple affiliate links using the same domain, example would be -

Domain name = example . com
    Masked affiliate links using prettylink

    example . com/product1
    example.com/product2

    and so on.

I agree pretty link is definitely the way to go if you want to mask affiliate links.

Hey Malcolm, I've been using a free WP plugin called "Affiliate Link Cloaking." I also like Jason Fladlien's "Easy Redirect Script" for masking affiliate links. I haven't tried Pretty Link yet.

Though a redirect to a Clickbank offer still does work it is better to point towards a landing page. YouTube is cracking down on affiliates and soon they will flag videos that have links going directly to Clickbank offers.

You will find that's getting tougher and tougher to promote. Setting up a lander is the way to go. It engages your potential customer as well - and that tends to be good for conversions.

    Good Luck!

I use multiple plugins to redirect such as Pretty Link, etc.. BUT, as stated, most sites (depending on where/how you're advertising) don't like redirects. Landing pages are better, long-term.

You can do landing pages with exit redirect or any number of combos that get more BH. A simple landing page works best.

I have tried to set up a domain forwarding to a clickbank link, but I just get a clickbank notice saying "This link was created by an affiliate of the ClickBank network who is not authorized to promote this product."! Can anyone explain why this is happening? If I use the link direct it works fine with no error message! I'm using a server redirect, and it always produces the same error (I'm on a windows server btw), I have also tried script redirects which produce the same results. In fact I set up the script redirects first a while ago at which time they worked, but now it seems no type of redirect works! Has Clickbank prevented this somehow? Thanks.

When you have your own website, you can forward it to any product that you like.

You can forward it to a clickbank product or your can forward it to other opportunities outside clickbank.

You can even create your own newsletter opt in page and forward your website to it or just add the code to your home page.

You can do a lot of things with your home page.

You can also try to add a few opportunities to your home page. There is no rule that says that you should only work with one single program.

    Hey there....

I created a product that dealt with this specific method of affiliate marketing (ie. registering a domain name, redirecting link to CB affiliate link, write and publish as many articles as you can to article directories, include your domain name in the resource box).

This method wasn't meant for everyone. It was for those with no funds for hosting, and those wanting to test out different CB products quickly.

After the recent Panda and Penguin updates, articles on article directories aren't showing up as high or as often in Google's search engine results. Therefore lowering the effectiveness of this method.

That being said, I still have plenty of these redirected domains (from my efforts years ago) and still get CB affiliate sales from them.

SO does the method still work? Yes. Is it as effective? Sadly, no.

That being said, there are still plenty of other ways to minimize your initial investments and create long term income with CB affiliate programs.

    Much Success,
