Any country, just make sure the product you are promoting has international delivery.

Depends on the country your are targeting? If you are targeting UK customers, then UK, if american, then .com. There are also plugins (scripts) which determines where the customer is from and will produce the appropriate affiliate code depending on their iP.

      This.

This is what you needed to know here, Richi. They're all separate companies but you can be an affiliate of whichever ones you want, and can automatically direct viewers of your site to "the right one" for you to get paid, according to the locations of their IP numbers.

Note also that amazon.co.uk has a (very low) ceiling on the maximum commission payable per item.

But people in the UK (for example) will almost never buy from amazon.com, and indeed amazon.com will detect their IP number and try to redirect them and sometimes not even give them pricing information for products also available at amazon.co.uk (and so on).

I've never sold a single item through my UK amazon. It's all been 100% .com US market. Not sure I'll even bother with the others on future projects.

Amazon.com ( as you might imagine) converts better and generates more sales.
Amazon.co.uk has little competition and it grows month by month. I know people who are making significant figures on co.uk.

I am with .com since I'm always going for big fish even if it takes longer to catch them.

You should target the country that you live in or you would be most likely to purchase from if you purchased directly from Amazon yourself. That said you should also target all of the countries. You can do this by using a free plugin that will redirect your users to the appropriate amazon site when they click on a link from your website. Or there is a better paid version that does this redirect created by Gaz Cooper that he sells here on WF which a simple search will find.

Richi, no disrespect but you're not listening to the answers people are giving you, here.

      Amazon.com converts US traffic.

      Amazon.co.uk converts UK traffic.

Neither can convert the other's traffic
in a way that pays affiliates, and there are reasons for that (explained above).

What you're asking shouldn't really be a relevant question to you, anyway, because you can be an affiliate for both, and have the traffic sent automatically to the right one.

      What?! Why?!

That would mean that I should target amazon.co.uk. I'd hardly earn anything at all, that way! What has where I live, or buy from myself, got to do with it?!

Dot com is for the US and dot UK is for the UK. Similar dot de denotes a German domain and so on. These are country specific Amazon portals that mainly cater to the people of a specific country though you can ship to other countries as well provided you bear the shipping.
