Default Can You Help A Poor Springer Spaniel?

Hi,

This is Muffin, John's springer spaniel.

I've just started a blog and John says it crap. So,
I've sneaked onto his computer before he gets his
lazy arse out of bed to ask you guys for a favour..

Can you please look at my blog and let me know
how I can improve it?
http://aboutspringerspaniels.com/

If you know where I can get a good looking theme
that would be really helpful.

By the way dogs aren't allowed PayPal accounts, so
don't expect me to pay for anything!

Muffin

Hi Muffin. Dogs take over the internet - yay! I like your blog, and left you your first comment!

My mum uses a free wordpress theme on her blog Running With Dogs - it's the Pet Project one from here - Pet Project Wordpress Theme. Obviously you don't want a little terrier picture there, when you're so cute, but the little doggie footprints are nice, and I like the colour scheme.

Mum likes the theme too but I believe it's not widget ready, so mum has to code the sidebars herself, which she's not very good at. Don't tell her I said that!

Cheers

Springer lovers don't care about the wallpaper (my daughter's Springer used to rip it off anyway doing 'wall of death' circuits of any room he was in!) - they want to see Springers - put more on the blog and the visitors won't give a hoot about the rest.

Content rules for dog lovers.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

OMG Muffin you look just like the Springer Spanial we used to have years ago called Jessie. My daughter was 3 when we bought her, so they grew up together and were best friends.

She went to doggy heaven at the grand old age of 18 and to be honest we've never got over losing her, my hubby won't even contemplate having another dog.

lol I hope your owner has you well trained, I know from experience how naughty you can be as a breed

Kim

BTW, lots of useful content and more cute photos would do it for Springer lovers like me.

Darn it I want one again now!!!

Don't change a thing John - I love that the blog posts are coming from the dogs perspective, that's a real winner!

That sort of style always reminds me of the book Fluke http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluke_(novel) ,if only they could talk!

Simply fill the posts with Springer Spaniel images and the Spaniel owners will love it...

anyway, you can modify your layout and your header. And add some colors to your blog so that it can look more appealing.

Muffin I remember the last time you hijacked John's computer, and it was the best email sent out to his list.

It shows you can write and capture the readers. Use that to your advantage.

How about a video of you getting John running after a stick, now that would be something a lot of dogs would love to know how to do

Sure, I'd love to see the video of John, but if Guinness sees it and thinks he can try it on me, that's a whole different kettle of fish.

Hi,

Muffin here again. The old fart's flat out and fast
asleep on the sofa.

He's not as fit as he used to be. Today's walk was
a stretch for him.

Anyway, thanks for all the feedback and suggestions.

I'm going to see if I can teach John to fetch me a few
new themes to try out. ;-)

Well done, Muffin, you are doing a great job.

Only trouble is my Grace, a lovely litle Colliex, has now been
pestering me for computer lessons. I would not mind, but
I think she could be better at it than me!

A couple free WP templates muffin may like to call home.
I use to raise springer spaniels when I was younger...
Now I have a Schipperkee for whom I am also doing a website for on WP....

If your looking to monitize muffins web pages you might want to look into something like popshops .com, they have a free store builder that uses your CJ, Linkshare, Shareasale, Pepperjamnetwork affiliate programs & creates a free (up to 10 product pages) storefront that are website / blog ready...just copy & paste the script after you add your products.
Could get things like petco, or 1800petmed & hopefully make enough to keep muffin stocked up on her favorite doggie treats...

Good Luck...
Ken

Default Hey Muffin This is Rose Re: Can You Help A Poor Springer Spaniel?

Hey Muffin:

Me and Kate have a blog too. I'm an Irish Setter and Kate is an English Springer Spaniel. We're bestest friends - well most of the time. I like your blog but then I like just about everybody. 'cept I don't like those hot dog dogs. I was at the dog park one day? And one of um came over? I thought he was just gonna say hello, yanno? But he didn't. He bit me! Course his teeth just got caught in my fur. I have beautiful long red fur. Dee, she's my two legged companion brushes it. And gives me a bath. I don't like baths. I like to roll in the mud and play in the lake, but baths? Nope. When Dee says its bath time I hide under the bed. Doesn't work though. She finds me.

I'm gonna come say hi on your blog. Ya wanna visit mine? Me and Kate have a website too, where we sell stuff to get extra treats. I put a link on it to your blog.

Rose, the Irish Setter.

I love it John...er Muffin...the whole perspective is great...really heart warming..makes me miss my pooch I had as a child...a cute little cocker spaniel...

Personally my only thoughts are more pics, like Jay said with the gallery page or something of the like...dog lovers love pics of dogs...you could also monitize with cafepress or something similiar...you could create an entire Muffin calender for dog lovers..or mugs or any number of things.

It looks like a good start...but I noticed 2 of the same posts? Weird.

I would add more content and photos and maybe an optin box to build a list of others who are into the same types of dogs. Maybe even hire a ghost writer for more original content.

Muffin, I just had a thought, John has some video on his computer of you during the snow, might be worth nicking (I mean borrow) them for your blog as well, and he has some photos of you (he showed them on twitter while you were asleep) which you could use as well.

Make sure you put your twitter name on there for people to follow

Hi Muffin,

Don't panic because John won't be waking up for quite a while. As you already know, he has a drinking problem and spends a lot of time at the pub. You SHOULD know that because he takes you with him!

Anyway, let the old geezer sleep and use his computer all you want!

That's because of the "Sticky Post" plugin that
allows you to make one blog post a sticky.

I won't look as weird when there's more content.

Hi John,

That's a clever approach.

If you add an email sign-up, you could call it "join the pack." Then each of the emails could start with "Hey pack!" and end with "Woof woof!, Muffin."

Regards,
Allen
