Ok ecommerce experts, anyone doing this?

So im in the middle of setting up my latest site which is ecommerce but i've stummbled upon a small problem. Im going to be split 50/50 between US$ buyers and AU$ buyers so im trying to think of a way to sell in both currencies from the 1 site.

Reason being is that this market tends to buy locally so if they see another currency they'll panic and hit the back button. I thought about having an old school style index page that simply says "choose your region" and you click on the country you're from, but we all know more clicks = less $$$. Does anyone know of an IP tracking system that would automatically direct visitors to the appropriate currency based on there location?

Oh yeah, somehow i need this to be seo friendly too

Having done this a number of times I set up two separate sites. It may be a little harder but you have to charge gst for those in Australia otherwise you will get into trouble from the tax dept.

So you have to decide if you are going to make it global or specific. Globally just do the US dollar. I get plenty of Australians still buying even though it is in US dollars.

Very good point with the GST Quentin. I didn't really want to go with 2 sites purely from an SEO perspective so maybe the one currency is not a bad option after all. But im still going to have to allow for GST for AU sales anyway aren't I? Maybe i'll just include it in the price.

    Thanks
