Question on WordPress Site

Hello: I have a new WordPress 3.5.1 and have a problem I cannot seem to figure out. I am sure it is really basic so it must be me.

My new site has a sample page with an ad for a cab company and I can't seem to get rid of it.

Can someone please tell me how to just make it go away?

Thanks

Jim

Someone must have hard coded the ad onto the theme.

Depend on which part the ad appears,

    For example:
If it appear at the footer:
Go to Appearance at the sidebar
    Editor
Select the footer to view the source code
Use Ctrl+F to find the cab company name or url

Then remove the line of code.
    Signature

    .
Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

Without posting the website here it would be impossible to tell you how... Just off the top of my head, ads are normally stored within 3 sections of the control panel. Widgets, plugins or some themes have a specific panel for their theme, usually in their.

create a page, then set your homepage to a static one.

wp-admin dashboard > settings>reading then select front page as a static page and select your pge from the dropdown

do you have any plugins installed? some plugins are scams and hijack your homepage or redirect them.

also, are you using paid hosting?
