Fortune High-Tech Marketing Gets Shut Down

Not sure how many of you are network marketers on here, but I thought you might like to know that the Federal Trade Commission shut down Fortune High-Tech Marketing (FHTM) today.

The basic gist of the story is that they ruled it a "pyramid scheme" because almost no one made any money, and the people that did make money made their money off of signing people up rather than products.

Anyway, here's the rest of the story: Yes It's True... Fortune High-Tech Marketing (FHTM) is Shut Down! - The Sponsoring System

Has anyone noticed the FTC cracking down on anything else recently? I hadn't really heard much about anyone getting shut down in IM since Perry Belcher which was like 2-3 years ago.

Thoughts on any of this?

It all depends on the model. If the model is just focused on you making money off people you refer who want to make money referring other people, that's one thing. But if the platform being sold actually helps people make money outside of referrals, then that's another matter entirely. Right?

Definitely! I've been a part of a network company for over 10 years. I stopped selling it about 5 years ago but have been using the products for 10 years because I love them. And, I had people who loved them too - so I'm still getting checks every month.

However, companies that pay you only on referrals and not on an actual PRODUCT or service is nothing more than a pyramid scheme and destined to fall at some point in their history.
