EVP is probably one of the best video players, and there's anew one on Clickbank right now, check it out.

    Hi Phil

A couple of people have recommended EVP (Easy Video Player). I agree it's great. But I just wanted to check whether it's a player that you need? Have you actually created the video yet?

Tell us a bit more about what you want to do, because I suspect you might be looking for a solution to help you create your videos as well as market them (but I could be wrong).

    Cheers

    Kate

For video editing i can recommend Blender. Even though it is a 3D software it has a decent video editor. You can find lots of tutorials about it and if you invest time you can even mix 3d stuff with your video and that would look really good.

Since i am from gaming business for screen capture i recommend fraps, simple but it functions.

Asking which is "best" is much like asking what tool is best for building a house. There's no one video editing software that does it all, and you'll probably want and need a combination of tools in your video making toolbox.

Like most things, do you want simplicity and ease of use, or control and power? Special effects? Record your screen? Animations? Create slideshows? Do you have more time than money?

Also, for making videos it's great to have a collection of graphics programs, as well as access to royalty-free images, music, sound efx, stock video, etc.

Here's some of the stuff I use:

    I have and use:
    Video Scribe/Sparkol
    Camtasia 7
    Sony Vegas Movie Studio
    Open Office Impress
    Active Presenter
    Apex Text to Speech
    Corel VideoStudio Pro X3
    The Logo Creator
    AnyVideoConverter
    CrazyTalk - Makes talking animations
    CrazyTalk Animator
    DVD slideshow GUI
Inkscape - Vector image program. I use it with Video Scribe.
ProShow Producer - The best slide show maker
Screensaver Factory 5 - Make and distribute screen savers (made from slideshows)

    Media:
    Animation Factory
    Video Blocks
    Morguefile
OpenClipart - free public domain clipart
The online royalty free public domain clip art - vector clip art online, royalty free & public domain - more public domain clipart
    Kozzi
    www.publicdomainpictures.net
    JewelBeat
    Neo's Clip Archive - Neo's Clip Archive

Why dont you try Animoto. It provides easy to use templates that require little more than “plug and play.” It is a platform that helps you improve and enhance existing materials.

Go for Camtasia. Its screen recording software allows you to capture action on your computer screen and deliver it easily to an audience. This helps combine the ability to both create video and easily edit it to your liking.

I personally use a combination of easy video suite along with camtasia. That works very well for me. EVS gives you the option to either upload your videos to Amazon S3 or Youtube, your choice. It's not cheap, but the best video platform on the market in my opinion.

Videos often sound real dreadful, with the wrong volume and the wrong music.
So if you want to stand out give that attention.
    I use:

    -Audacity
    -FL Studio
    -Powerdirector

    Make your own soundtracks!

Don't just record your voice with the microphone of the camera only, but make a separate voicerecording as well.
