Blogger For Testing Markets

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm still rather green to the whole IM thing. Was wondering if it would work to use Blogger to test different markets and keywords? For example, make a blog post for one market one keyword then onto the next. So my blog would just just be a bunch of articles through all markets.

My idea here is if this works and I start getting hits on one then I can expand on it and go ahead and get a domain for it.

I would do Wordpress over Blogger and make sure you self-host it.

You want the control you can get.

You can, but it's an unnecessarily difficult and insecure way of doing it.

It's perhaps better to start off with a free subdomain on a free hosting site (maybe somewhere like Freehostia? But there are many others), and do the same thing there, because if it works out for you, you can just buy a domain to continue it, without having to move the site as well. There's nothing to gain from doing it at Blogger, because if it works well there, and you find something you want to continue, you shouldn't do so there, anyway, on a site you can never own or control.

If you have one paid hosting account, somewhere like Hostgator, that's better still. You can have one generic domain-name, and test all/any you want on its subdomains, which you can create whenever you like, where you're totally in control of what happens. You can still buy a separate domain-name at a later stage for anything that does well, if you want to.
