Good ol Google
Do they have a special department that sits and sees how they can really annoy people who make their living online?!

What the hell happened to Google Analytics today??!!

Seems that being able to see the percentage increase/decrease over the last 30 days is no longer of importance!!! Or am I missing something?

Bloody idiots

Any one else fed up with them??!!

Not fed up with them at all. They are not in business to make you happy. They are in business to create profits. They owe you nothing.

The things they do that frustrate you are actually good. In order to remain an effective search engine, they MUST constantly block 'marketers' from gaming their system and lock the back doors. This in turn levels the playing field for marketers and businesses who are not trying to game the system.

Since when was seeing an increase/decrease percentage "gaming the system"?!

It was purely useful to see at a glance how my sites were doing without having to go into each one individually.

And anyway, who makes them their profits? - We do! If I treated my customers with as little respect I would go out of business.

Never. That's not what I said. Google and other search engines do what they have to to to prevent some from gaming the system. Sometimes that means blocking access to information.

No we don't. Paid advertisers do.

This is true, but who are the paid advertisers advertising to? It's 'Joe Public' who are using Google in the first place. Without users to market to and to use Google in the first place, ultimately there would be no profits...

Which brings us back around to Gene's point; in order to serve Joe Public, the search engines must prevent marketers from gaming the system and mucking up the listings (paid and organic).

But I still completely sympathize with the OP

Absolutely right, but Joe Public isn't the one interested in the statistics.

Yes I agree with you, Google just like every other business in this world is out there to make profits.

However, if the customer is Not Happy with the services or products being provided, they simply go elsewhere and Google loses out on potential profits.

Therefore for Google to grow they must keep people happy, and happy customers = a successful business.

Yes Google has to make adjustments from time to time to help benefit the business but if it means losing good customers, then more fool them.

Marketers who use analytics are not Google's customers. Google wants to make their customers, advertisers and end users happy.

I stopped building my businesses around Google some time ago and have been MUCH happier since. People have to realize that Google is always going to do what's in THEIR best interest at the expense of YOUR best interest. Knowing that, why build your business around them, or come to rely on anything they provide?

You got that right. They could care less about those guys and ladies who had their website on page one and that they were able to make a lot of money from their site being there for a long time.

I read stories here in the forum where people were doing really well and when their site got slapped, they were making 50%-90% less income.

They are here to make money and more profits. They do that from the paid search advertisers of course.

    LOl I hear you man!

It can be annoying when they change thing's up a bit.

Normally when they introduce a feature you get to choose whether to have the updated version or keep the old one for a little bit. Is there a button for that can you see?

Sorry I can't help further I stick with Statcounter and they are awesome.

Not sure what you mean though. I can see the increase and decrease. Maybe you are looking at the live stats, and need to select something else from the menu?
