Here is succeeding with a youtube channel

who here has a successful youtube channel? Successful as in making a living like other youtubers like Ray WIlliam Johnson, Smosh and all those other people. How is that market?


i recently just saw a video of Kevin Smith owning a youtube channel. From movie producer to youtube channel??,,,,seems a bit desperate..

    making a living with your youtube channel is one of the worst things you can do from a business perspective

    imagine if you were pulling in $5k, $10k etc per month with your youtube channel and then suddenly youtube pulled the plug

    this can happen and has happened

    not to say don't use youtube because it's a great platform to drive traffic back to your site but i would never build a business or want to build an type of significant income just from my youtube channel because you have no rights to it

    instead just funnel your traffic back to your website where you can build your list

    youtube is an awesome place to use as an extra just don't put too much time into it

      I agreed with Paul,

      Never run your money site on free platform such as blogger, YouTube, etc.

      U are at the mercy of the provider.

      This. Youtube is a great way to build traffic to your site but you should also focus on monetizing your own website which you actually own. Youtube could at any moment stop your videos and then you will have no other sources of income.

    Yeah, and the thing is they don't even to "pull the plug." They could make one simple change to advertising and your ad rev cut in half!

    It's a process! I mean that beside making a lot
    of videos you need to be sure that these videos is also quality
    videos. Another important thing is consistency!

      You are right, engaging content is the key. The videos should not only be informative, but they should be entertaining and engaging. If the videos are boring, they are unlikely to be shared with others and go viral, no matter how informative they may be.

      This is because, people want to be entertained while they are being educated. No one likes a boring teacher who cannot present her subject in an interesting way.

        Comedic, controversial, promotional, educational. It really depends on what you are going after that determines what you need to do to make a successful channel.

        It starts with knowing your audience. Creating videos that will appeal to that audience and creating videos that lead your audience to the action (s) you want them to take.

        Learn how to optimize your channel and videos.

        Create reasons for your audience to return regularly to your channel.

        Remember that Youtube is a tool in your I.M. toolbox. A hammer is an awesome tool, but if it is the only one you have, you are greatly limited to what you can do.

        Your channel should be used to support your primary assest and the videos with in the channel. Your primary assest is your website that covers the topic you are addressing with your channel.

        By optimizing your channel, it will also help support the rankings of the videos you have with-in your channel.
