Default Blogspot - is there still fire in its belly?

Simple question - is blogspot still a viable option to getting search results?

Gotta know as I have have been challenged - is it still possible to generate a revenue stream from this service?

Anyone doing it?

How yer doing?

Is it a lost cause?

Is it old hat?

Should I even be taking the challenge on?

Only you can tell me....

Thinking hats on folks - is this backwater still worth a go?

So - many questions - thank you for humouring me....

-Rich

I only use Blogspot blogs. Yes, it is definitely doable.

Yup...

Anyone doing it?
Yeah.. TONS of people are using it as a secondary level promotional platform. I wouldn't recommend it as anything to base your business on, but it's still a powerful platform, for sure.

Very well... it's powerful enough for me to still use it in my traffic generation strategy

Definitely not, sir.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean it's washed out...

I personally don't use Blogger that much because I prefer Wordpress, however recently I've noticed quite a few niche Blogger blogs ranked on page 1 of Google so I definitely think it has its uses, especially with regard to long tail keyword phrases. I would prefer to use Blogger to drive traffic to my hosted sites because I don't trust Google (they do delete people's blogs occasionally for one reason or another).

Blogger is cool. I even have a site where I removed all time and date stamps. It looks more like an Xsite Pro content site than a blog!

If so, would love to know more (without giving away your niches)

A primary income source - not a feeder to a main site...

It runs Adsense - that earns money - Google benefits from you running it in a ethical way.

What would happen if you feed traffic to that site from other secondary sources?

The challenge (from my warped friend, was to take a lame duck and make it into a swan) - thats what I am after.

Seeing that it's owned by Google...yea, I'd say they are still viable and most likely preferred.

Yep - been checking them out - inbound links..

#1 spot How to Make Money Online for Beginners actual - 897 Google recognises- 492

# 2 spot Make Money Online actual - 886 Google recognises- 249

Looks like its not the platform per-say, its the quality of content and back-links.

Blogspot - for me is definitely worth a try....

Many thanks folks - I will keep you posted as I progress.

Blogspot is great, you can get rid of the navbar, and use your own Url as well to make it look less bloggy. Theres many themes and ways to edit it to make it look more like a website then a blog.

Tumblr.com is a great option too, with many of the same features as blogspot.com
