How to make stay safe with paypal?(international buyers)

Im trying to sell some things on craigslist, cuz hey I need the money. Of course there are these overseas people who try to rip everyone off. So I kinda want to know how to stay safe if you were to ship overseas.

I got an offer and of course the scammer is like my spouse wants your item and they live overseas. I really don't care if he is scammer as long as he pays me my money. I figure if he tries to say that the item never arrived and tries to get both the item and his money back is the only way he can scam me. But I will just refuse to send another.

can the customer take the money out of my account once the money is in my paypal, somehow. I just want to get the money and movie it to my accoutn as quick as possible ship and be done with it.

Use a shield account or two. Verify these accounts with a VCC and accept payments through them, before forwarding the received payments on towards another PayPal account which you have attached to your bank. You may even want to pass the payment through a couple accounts just to be extra safe.

Don't accept the payment from your primary PayPal account, as soon as you have the money, pass it off to another.

  • When you ship overseas, dont you use EMS or something similar? Everytime I ship overseas, I get an automatic tracking number. Usually if a buyer claims they never received the package, but you have a tracking number that shows it was delivered, paypal will side with you.

Yes, that is what I always use shippingoverseas, and I always get a tracking number from them. It shows me each port the package goes to, when it goes through customs, when it arrives at different cities, and when it is delivered to the customer.

so I get the idea they are trying to get me to ship EMS so that I don't have tracking numbers and they can dispute the transaction. In which case paypal will return the cash. What I'm going to do is accept payment and then just send the item through my own terms, with tracking number, so I can dispute.

But is there any other way they can scam me? like sending money from a bank account and spending the money before hand or something?

But when you ship EMS, you get a tracking number. They come standard with everything I have ever sent. So I dont see the problem.

  • I think you misunderstood my first response.
I said "...dont you use EMS...?" It was a question.
