Feedback on My New Squidoo Lens?

Trying somethign new, want to start to build up a small income, the plan is one lens a day, with the intention of earning $10/mo per lens, so that after 2 months, I can invest in paid advertising and focus on a website, a list, etc...

and even stop having to pay other bills in the house from my "real job" paycheck

You've put a lot of work into that lens ... and it shows!

Love how you explain the features, benefits, and even the cons of the headphones.

Tons of pictures, videos, and links to amazon.

From this standing point it looks like a job well done. Of course you will need to do some tweaking in the future but good work zspuckl

What if you could somehow get a star rating for specific headphones or even a comparison table or price, features, etc.

Yes a nice lens, I can't fault it, the only problem I can envisage it that you need to be spending a lot of time to put out a few high quality lenses like this.

If you check out the War Room at the moment there's a guy Jay? who has a free report to download on Squidoo that would give you some inspiration.

That's exactly where the inspiration to start this came from, I used to make around $100 a month with squidoo...but then I got lazy, this could really be an income booster!

The first paragraph is too big. Split the sentences and leave a space. People like white space and short paragraphs.

    Add more pictures and colors.

I also like to add white space. I use the code:

    <p style="background: #FFFAFA; padding: 15px; margin: 0;"></p>

You can change the space and make it bigger or smaller by changing this part:

    padding: 15px;

    padding: 10px;

    padding: 5px;

    etc...

This space is not exactly white but it is so light that it is like white.

It makes your lens more organized and pleasant.

You should use this space in then end of each module.

    Awesome lens!

If you keep that up you will make money for sure - it starts off slow but mounts up.

Also make sure you post at the Squidoo forums for suggestions as you will get more people liking your lenses and feedback.

Very nicely done. You can definitely achieve your target if you maintain this standard in all your lens, at one lense a day. All the best

Looks like someone has been using Squid Pro Quo. To me, the lens looks a bit bland. However, that may just be my bias against site like Squidoo because of the freedom I have to be creative on my own sites.

I'm not sure if you are intentionally targeting "Best Headphones for Crossfit" but if you are, be aware that this particular term only shows a dozen or so exact searches per month and "headphones for crossfit" only show about 50. Although I'm not big on looking at search volume, I just wanted you to be aware of what you are dealing with if that's what you are doing.

You should build a large income and see yourself earning a lot of money online. The problem with small goals is that you usually reach them. Set a big goal to earn enough money to quit your day job.

I agree with you to a point, however I think what is most important to realized is that setting big goals can be very...disheartening when you don't have the tools to reach it at once. I have much larger long term goals, however if I don't start small with some goals that are SMART goals, then a longer term and larger goal...is useless

Building an income through Squidoo is a good idea but be sure to diversify the income including to your own websites. Though Squidoo has a lot of internal traffic you must build lenses for keywords with a minimum exact search volume of 100. For example the keyword phrase "best headphones for the gym" has a volume a little above 100. It also does not have a Squidoo lens on the first page of Google (you can make a lens on it).

Sub lenses within the lens must support the main keyword. They should be related in this case to best headphones for the gym.

Keyword research is everything if you want to drive traffic - without traffic there will not be any sales. If you have adequate traffic Squidoo does help by ranking your lens higher which in turn is liked by Google.

But it is a good start and a nice lens, hope you succeed with Squidoo!

    Looks good.

Good idea sticking it on here for review, get some views and get the old lens rank increased a little to kick things off.

      Lots of nice information.

A few things - You are not taking advantage of the tags. The tags appear on pages of their own.
If you use a somewhat popular tag you will show up on a page with other lenses and some of that link juice can be passed on to you. The first tag you choose helps the most. You picked a tag that no one else has so that will not help you much at all.

Install SquidUtils on your lens and look at the color coding for tags. This will help you select the best ones for your lenses.

You are also leaking from your site by having the related lenses that are not yours on the sidebar. Add your own lenses or dont use that feature. You will still show up.

Break up the first paragraph and make the photo one of a product people can buy then link to it in the first paragraph OR add something like an Amazon Spotlight box with BEST HEADPHONES and include photo a link...remember many people do not want to read the entire lens. Give them some action to take right away.

Include another buying section after the comments for last minute clickers who read thru the comments.

    Looks nice.

I also agree that when you have other lenses you should fill up the sidebar with your own lenses.

    Best of luck!

Looks good. There are tons of great WSO's about building squidoo lenses. You should check them out and see if you can't smash through that $10 a day you have set as a goal. Best of luck to you.

It's a nice lens, but keep in mind the following things:

    1) Don't forget to constantly update your lens (and move it at least to Tier 2).
    2) Next time choose a keyword with more searches (with preferably more than 500 "exact" searches per month). My 2 top lenses get 1500-2000 visitors from Google per month (combined), and earn me $300 in "bad" months like January.

      Nice lens

Dont get me wrong, I think Squidoo is GREAT and I know people that are making a killing with it however you need to focus more on your own sites and use Squidoo as an addition to your efforts.

I checked your site and its not bad the one thing that jumped out at me is you have NO TEXT LINKS within your reviews did you know that contextual links are what can really increase your click thru rate.

Also your pictures are not linked and many people click on the picture so you are losing clicks there also.

I would be adding text links ASAP currently you only have one at the end of the review which is not sufficient,

You are on the right path for sure just be certain that you focus 80% on your own site and 20% on sites that you have no control over.

Thanks for the tip Gaz, yeah I have limited text links right now but I can always go in and add those. As for my own site I am getting very frustrated, it fell in the SERPs out of no where....I had like 150-200 visitors a day, now I am lucky to hit 20, so my income also took a big hit....so I am just trying to get a steady stream SOMEWHERE while I work on it!

Just keep adding quality unique content and it will come back dont lose hope on that as it looks like you have been doing a good job.

If you have done some dodgy link building that may be the issue just plan in future to add good quality content and keep adding it I had a site that dropped and it came right back after I kept adding unique content do that and you should be OK also be sure to link to your site from your Squidoo lenses and any videos you put up on video sharing sites.

This is a truly great lens. I don't know if you've done your proper keyword research for this, but if you did... then you stand a good chance at ranking this baby with a few support lenses.

Don't forget that you are not in the market of providing free information. It is perfectly acceptable to slap a few much more visible money links on there.

I recommend you make your money links blue (or blue-er, at least), bold and underlined.

You can also simply use your money links contextually (as opposed to call-to-action style) a few times.

Just get those money links all over the lens. They are Amazon links and outgoing Amazon links on Squidoo lenses will not negatively affect your ranking.

    That's MY experience, at least.

Good luck with your Grade A lens, buddy.
