Depending on your needs, i'm sure you can find somebody on fiverr who can do it cheap. Might cost more than $5 but creating a video takes some time.

Get a Kodak zi8 pocket camera (on ebay, about $75) off screen recording
and or screen capturesoftware for live on screen recording. (like Screen Flow $99)
you can also take youtube videos that you can start and end where you want, Software to do that is by Matthew McDonald Video Review Master automatically loads for you if you can find what you want that is already created and make it like your own review etc.

Did you try to use Animoto? Well it's free and in 30 second (time for FREE account) you can make really good video and publish it directly from Animoto account to Youtube. Inserting text and own photo in their preloaded templates can be also fun...
Try it... Its free if you want no more than 30 second video.

LOL. Actual people? I knew some people on some of the YouTube videos were extraterrestrials.

Here's a quick lighting tip for videos, get a couple oflow cost halogen worklights from your local DIY store and use these for ambient lighting. Cheap, quick and super bright (position correctly to avoid shadows). Be careful with these lights though as they do get hot...

If you want to do some fancy green screen backgrounds TubeTape.Com has some awesome reasonable cost stuff (I've used their green screen chromakey cloth before for music videos) although to get good results with green screen you have to light the background well.

What is the time for paid accounts? Is it unlimited?
I tried to download a free version. I must have done something wrong at some point and I can not do it :-(

Just look into which folder you download!
        Instructions are really simple.

You can try Animoto. Get the paid version for $6/mo. or try EZvid which is also free or also Jung, which is a really useful screen capture software that I use a lot in my rep management biz. Good luck. Also, for very powerful, easy high rankings, try creating a PowerPoint presentation and uploading it to slideshare. Works great.

The easiest way is likely not the most effective. They can nearly intersect, though. If you get a nice USB mic then you can use a laptop cam to record and upload them at the same time. They can be of decent quality that way.

Here's how I can get a 5 minute video on YouTube and getting me traffic to my site in under 8 minutes:

    1. Bust out my iPhone 4S
    2. Open The YouTube Capture App (free)
    3. Record said 5 minute video
    4. Title that video
    5. Upload and instantly share to FB, Twitter, G+
    6. Edit description and tags on YouTube
    7. Let the engagement commence!

If I decide to post that video on my blog or do some quick edits in iMovie it might take some extra time but this is my YouTube strategy in a nutshell. Works nicely so far

    Hope this helps!

all of my highest converting videos are me standing in front of a camera with some added imovie editing.

I just have a little camera and a tripod, a whiteboard and a little note card behind the camera and that's pretty much all I use.

Well, there are a lot of free online tools these days that can help create a video easily. However, be aware that a viral video must have a good concept too that can capture the attention of the audience.

well it depend on your goal. If you plan to make product review video then you should make a script first. Point out what you are about share to your viewer. After the script is done, you should be confidence and make sure your voice is big enough. Be friendly toward your viewer, put your best casual cloth, and maybe clean up your room. If you can do that, you can save $5 instead of using fiverr gig.

If you don't have a video camera you can use a smartphone, a camera with a video facility or even get a Flip camera. If you want to record your computer screen use Camtasia or Cam Studio if you don't want to pay. You can also create Powerpoint slides and create a movie file from this.

Great info! My only problem is I want to film someone doing a demonstration video or "valuable" video on a specific niche for a lead generation, but haven't had any luck. Is there a place to purchase short clip pre-made videos? Or is fivverr the only place?

What kind of demonstration? Without knowing that it's hard to tell you if there are any pre-made clips.

Easiest way i found to make a youtube video is to use the video camera on your smart phone an start recording! Make sure you have valuable content to share and most importantly be yourself, dont try to be someone your not.

Depends on what kind of videos you want to make. You can basically make all of these for free (or next to nothing) using YouTube itself.

    1. Talking head videos - Use YouTube's webcam record feature to capture the video and then use YouTube's editor to edit it.

    2. Slideshow videos - Again, record the audio using YouTube's webcam record and edit in YouTube.
Edit: You can also upload images to YouTube's video editor for your slides.

    3. Screen capture videos - Start a google hangout and capture your screen. Automatically uploaded to YouTube. Edit in YouTube.

Also, in the new editor you can add titles, transitions, music, effects, and lower thirds.

Here's a video I made on how to edit in YouTube:

After 2 years 3 months of research... I found alternative's for essential tools (like gotowebinar, camtasia, survey monkey and many more) that are just as good as the ones you've heard about, but cost a ton less! So good even Guru's like Mike Filsaime have used and recommended them. Click here to find out what most insiders know but don't tell...

If you don't have a lot to invest in a good digital camera and your laptop has a webcam that's decent just use that or buy a webcam and use that along with jing or camtasia or camstudio which is free to use.

    cheers!

Remember that better lighting and a decent microphone will make an average camera take better video that a great camera with no lighting and no microphone. (simple clip on lapel mic).

You can definitely use the cheap Home Depot style work lights. But you will probably need to diffuse them a bit. I remember seeing some kind of "light filter screen" some people clamped onto the work lights before to diffuse them. It did a great job.

Oh, and did I mention to have good lighting? That will definitely make your video turn out way better.

    Nathan

PS - Don't forget the lighting.

Here is an example of a video I just made earlier today. I had no intention to uploading it to YT (I use Vimeo for business stuff), but I thought it would help to explain to post it here.

You don't have to listen to the content of the video - that's not important. I just posted it here to use as an example.

This was taken with a digital camera (normally used to take still photos with), a white bed sheet stapled to the wall, and some cheap construction lights. Watch in 1080 and be amazed at the quality of video for almost nothing invested.

Nothing was done post editing except cutting the clips together. No "special effects" or "special editing".

    BOOM!

      Grab a webcam.

Have a set of 10-15 video post ideas ready.

Sit down in front of the camera and knock out all 10-15 ideas.

This is the most effecient way to knock out a lot of content. All in 1 sitting.

Hi guys nice to see old thread revived . Well I am much more up to date now than when I previously asked this question and many thanks for all those great replies. Very helpful.

I have decided not to do YouTube videos as they are currently shutting down loads of accounts associated with commercial intent like I am given to understand empowerment network affiliates.

However I will be doing videos with a brilliant easy as pie and value for money provider but not for YouTube specifically
