Is the CJ tracking pixel required?

Sent an email to CJ for 1 week ago but haven't received any reply yet so I ask here.

Is the CJ tracking pixel required? I'm linking with a WordPress custom field where I only can insert a URL, and not any HTML code. So I can't include the tracking pixel in the link.

So is the tracking pixel required in order to get the commission, or can I just drop the pixel and still get the commission?

    I seem to remember the pixel counts impressions, but the link in the URL sets the cookie for conversion tracking.

    I believe you can get a conversion without an impression, but it could funny, potentially suspicious if the merchant or cj review your account for possible fraud, and there are tons of conversions but no impressions. An occasional one would presumably be okay because sometimes images don't load anyway.

    The tracking pixel doesn't technically have to next to the ln, it could be anywhere on the same page.

    also check the tos before messing with their code.

      So you say that I can insert the tracking pixel in the content and link a button with the "cookie" link and it will still work in the same way as if I had used the original code from CJ where the affliate link and the tracking pixel is inside the same code?
