How to Find a SOLID Mentor... 101
It's a question I humbly got for y'all on the Warrior Forum: How would I go about finding a solid mentor to help me with focus, strategy, and implementation?
NOTE: This isn't a thread ASKING for a mentor to fall in my lap - I've been in this game long enough to know that very little falls in your lap. I'm asking what steps I need to take in order find a good mentor without coming off as needy/noobish.
A little background: I've got just over a year of experience in affiliate marketing. I've made close to $2000 thus far. I'm not a total "n00b" - I know my way around Wordpress, link-cloaking, domains/hosting, web-design, Aweber, proxies (just started messing with Craigslist), blackhat SEO, and I'm trying to fill my head with as much info about copywriting as possible (halfway through Ca$hvertising). I'm a member of around 6 or so affiliate networks, and numerous in-house programs.
So I'm leaning towards intermediate knowledge. I've also been in the game long enough to NOT trust Gurus, and 90% of any eBook. Nothing in this game is as simple as "FIND OUT HOW I MADE $302305492359.094 in TWO WEEKS WITH THIS ONE SIMPLE METHOD."
But I digress. Anyway, any of you SUCCESSFUL marketers have advice or stories on how you found a mentor that helped you a lot? Did you just post in forums asking for a mentor? Did you personally PM individuals you respected/looked up to?
I'm just looking for someone who can help me use what little time I have to the fullest + someone I can bounce ideas off of who'll give me honest feedback.
Thanks!
